Matt Le Tissier has never forgotten his roots, whether they be in his boyhood home of Guernsey or his adopted Southampton one of the past three decades, now here is the chance to give something back for him.

Matt Le Tissier has done a lot for charities in Southampton and the surrounding area, always been a very approachable person and willing to help out where he can, now he is going to attempt to run more miles than he ran in his entire career by taking part in the Guernsey Half Marathon in just under a fortnight on the 16th June.

This will be the first time Matt has done a half marathon, usually he had the full bar back before it changed its name to Snickers (Boom Boom, if its good enough for Sky Soccer saturday its good enough for me)

Of course this means a lot of training and a lot of pain, so he is going to do it for a good cause and the reason that he is going back to Guernsey to do this is simple, he is running it for the charity Help A Guernsey Child. A charity set up to help disadvantaged Children on Guernsey.

Matt is not attempting this alone, he is doing so alongside his wife Angela who will attempt to keep him on the straight and narrow over the 13.10 miles, rumours that to aid Matt's attempts, local branches of McDonalds situated along the route are going to close for the day, are wide of the mark.

So support Matt & Angela in a very worthy cause by popping along to their just giving page at the address below, its simple and easy to donate and by using the gift aid facility you can add tax relief to your donation, ie to donate £10 you only physically need to pay £8.

The current total stands at £2,345 (as at Monday 3rd June) and it would be nice to see that rocket with donations from Saints fans, it doesnt need to be big (although Im sure that would be nice) just something so that Matt can make a worthy contribution to something close to his heart.
