Which Blues team will turn up at Barnet?
Monday, 22nd Feb 2016 23:00 by pompey-fans.com staff

Straight-talking Paul Cook says Pompey should be putting pressure on the other promotion contenders - instead it's them putting the Blues under the cosh.

Cook was at a loss to explain how the team could go from blowing away Bristol Rovers to struggling to nick a point at Yeovil. He hopes it is the former team who turn up at Barnet on Tueaday night as they look to close the gap between themselves and third place.

Cook told the Pompey website: 'You can look it at as a positive that we’ve only lost two away games — but how can we do that and not be in a stronger position? We’ve been consistent with our inconsistency so far this season. It’s so disappointing that we go from the level of performance against Bristol Rovers to the level against Yeovil.

'We missed a chance to put pressure on the sides above us — the reality is that sides are now putting pressure on us. You can look at your games in hand as a comfort blanket, but I’d rather have points in the bank.

'We’re doing okay, but we must put a run together soon that takes us to where we all want to be. You can talk and talk all you like when it’s more important that we just get on with the games that are left.'

Gareth Evans and Christian Burgess are out through injury and suspension respectively.
