Town boss Paul Jewell was at London Road to watch his trio of Portsmouth targets – Jason Pearce, Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson – play the full 90 minutes as Pompey beat Peterborough United 3-0 in the Championship this afternoon, Pearce (pictured) heading home the second from a corner.
Talks between the clubs are understood to be continuing with the Blues believed to have offered £2 million for the three players.
Elsewhere, Tyrone Barnett, another player being eyed by the Blues, was in the Crawley side which won 1-0 at Hull City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
