Thommo Returns 14:19 - Mar 20 with 1766 viewsseasider13

Steve Thompson was always a favorite of mine due to the fact that he was involved in most of our success with Grayson and Ollie.

Through little fault of his own it went pear shaped for him being frozen out by Appleton and becoming collateral damage under Ince.

I still regard his dismissal by our Chairman as a huge folly.

As much as i dislike Leeds United, i wish Steve all the very best for the future, him and Redfearn have steered Leeds quite nicely out of the mire, and i feel if given a real chance at Bloomfield Road we wouldn't be in this train wreck that we find ourselves in now.

With the benefit of hindsight, he should have gone when Ollie went, as each manager since wanted to bring in their own right hand man, despite Karl saying there would be a place for him.

As a result, he bacame a bit of a spare part behind Westwood and Rae respectively.

Now he's back to being a 'proper' assistant, he's again adding value.

Good luck to him.

Also successful with Tony Parkes helping put together the team Ollie inherited. The one member of Blackpool's former management I have met and spoken with. Nice guy.
