Tiger Feet walk 09:32 - Sep 28 with 3481 viewsbrewers_hoop

Hello all,

It's that time again where we get our walking boots on to raise cash for the Tiger Cubs - QPR's team for children with Down's syndrome.

This is our seventh walk and coincides with the Tiger Cubs' seventh birthday, so we're doing things a little differently this year. Instead of walking to an away ground, we'll be doing the 13 miles from Harlington to HQ for Bolton game this Saturday. That way the kids can go on the pitch and celebrate at half-time. They will also be doing the last couple of miles with us.

If anyone could habd over a bit of their hard-earned, that would be magic. We raised a magnificent £20,000 last year and over the years the cash has gone to improving existing training facilities for the kids, setting up more sessions in other venues, expanding the sessions to other sports including tennis and sending the kids on trips.

Anyway, here's the link for the fundraising page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfileP

Congratulations to all involved, to the club and to the Bolton fans for joining in the applause, as away supporters invariably do.

I couldn't help noticing that a fan who sits in the row in front of me, who regularly makes stereotypical 'spastic' gestures towards the opposition end, was also clapping. Sadly attitudes to people with disabilities still have a way to go.

Sorry, meant to update this earlier. Massive thanks to everyone who took part, donated, supported and clapped the Tiger Cubs around Loftus Road. It was a great day, the kids loved it and the crowd inside and outside Loftus Road, were magnificent as usual.

Through the £10,000 barrier now after players put in £2500. I know they're loaded but no-one forced them, so thanks to them too. The brilliant Community operation at our club is what sets it apart from others and long may their excellent work continue.

Good to see Metallica and a few others from here on the walk...although I think the long-haired one missed the last goal after leaving a split-second earlier!

If you do still want to make a contribution, the lines are still open. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfileP
