Denis Villeneuve directing is a bold choice. I've seen his last two films, Sicario and Arrival. Loved Sicario. I didn't rate Arrival, although that was more to do with the plot. Good to see Ridley Scott involved.
Ryan Gosling is so blooming cool.

Hang on.. I'll give you Godfather 2, and The Dark Knight but Back to the Future 2?? Die Hard with a Vengeance?? T2 is good but not better than the original imo. Is Silence of the Lambs a sequel to Manhunter?
Empire Strikes Back is better than StarWars.

I wasn't implying that any of them were better than the original, just that they were equally successful. I doubt many people even saw First Blood until after they'd seen Rambo.
"Back to the Future 2?? Die Hard with a Vengeance?? " You and I might think they were a bit "meh", but in terms of worldwide box office takings BTTF2 made as much as the original and DHWAV made about three times as much.
"Is Silence of the Lambs a sequel to Manhunter? " Yes
"Empire Strikes Back is better than StarWars." That's what I meant.

Redemial and unnecessary voiceover. Fury Road orange desert. Prometheus head ruins. Bane outfit. Stair foyer from Untouchables. Zzzzz.
Scott is doing exactly to BR what he did to Alien, which is turning an iconic tight genre movie into a franchise by expanding its world into portentous vagueness. (In fairness the post-apocalyptic scenario is truer to Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep than BR was but that's by the by). And Prometheus was a travesty.

Wasn't that the one of the main points of the original Bladerunner? Sean Young's replicant character struggling with the fact her memories are fabrications, ironically beginning to experience melancholy, loss, and other human emotions while Deckard slowly peels the onion to discover he is indeed a replicant too.

Ahh Patsy Kensit...once told me 'I'd shag you' on BBC tv, audience of millions (and one unimpressed Mrs Pullie).
Sadly, it seems that Vangelis will not be scoring the Blade Runner sequel, however it's to be hoped that his work from the original makes it in there somehow.
I have a feeling the sequel will be worth seeing, pity so few of the original cast are still with us. Edward James Olmos was one cool dude.
