Anyone on here ever used the King's Pub in Hanwell?
It's on the Uxbridge rd, just about opposite the Clocktower.
Proper, proper Pub.
Kathy's parents had it for years.
Then Kathy took over............then in the last few years, Tom ran it.
The cast of people that used that Pub ran deep and true.......every nutter and his uncle must have drank in there.
The old Irish guys that went from there to the Bookies next door, and back again, every day.
And when the Racing was on.....forget about watching the football.
It was a local pub.......for locals.....every face was known.
Some may have said it was a shithole.....granted.
Some may have said the place stunk of Urine.....granted.
But....it was the King's.
Lock in's most nights..........sing songs at the weekends...........more iffy trading than in the City of London.
Then the bastards closed it.....
Then the bastards opened it again, as a sort of..........'Shoreditch-on-Hanwell'
Every bastard has skinny jeans......short back and sides....and a beard.
They even sell Pizza in there.
It's a bastard disgrace.
I'll never set foot in there again.
Who do I blame?

Any of you older ones know my old workmate Con Courtney who used to drink in there?
He was a Kerryman, funny as feck and sharp as a tack. His wife died really young and he
brought up his 4 kids alone. He took early retirement and was going to clean up selling his massive 4 bedroom flat in Northcote Ave (road next to The Bell Ealing) that he'd bought for silly money off the council when the tories sold them off. You know the type, massive rooms with really high ceilings. Yuppies dream. Anyway he died in his sleep a couple of months after he left work. Poor bastard was only 54 but drank and had the craic like he was 24.

I remember the bad old days where you'd go to a pub and the local f**kwit would start hassling you. I had a scalpel of all things pulled on me in a pub in Streatham by some c*nt. Motherf*cker, I'm just trying to play a game of pool.
It's like Croydon these days. Absolute shithole but by East Croydon station there's a thing called Box Park which is full of interesting little restaurants. The most hipster place ever but it's nice. Everyone there seems decent.
It's like people rioting over a place that sells cereal in Brick Lane. Motherf*cker, do you remember Brick Lane back in the day? Utter shit.

There was a pub by Kew Bridge that we went in before the Brentford game in '16. They played vinyl, including the Beatles Red album, and T.Rex greatest hits...
