There is a strange schizophrenia in capitalist society. As the endless cutbacks go on and extremes of wealth grow there seems to be an ever greater focus on language and other superficial forms of equality.

The interesting thing about Trump is that his brutalised language much more accurately expresses the needs and outlook of the American ruling class as it prepares to attack the working class at home and stir up wars abroad.

As a tube worker I've never known ANYONE to even say 'ladies and gentlemen' over the P.A...... we do have pre-recorded voices that sound like the speaking clock, again, I don't know anyone who uses them as it's quicker to record your own voice. Another waste of money by TFL to make sure they sound 'right on'.
