Before my time, of course, but a very important day in my calendar none the less.

Still really envy all of you who were there...

"Fifteen minutes from the end of the match QPR equalised, Marsh's shot with his right foot went in off the post."

Hardly think that adequately describes the goal

One of the most amazing days of my life.

No-one, even the 45,000 R's fans, and my Auntie Vi ever expected us to win.

At half time, we were dead and buried. Then with 20 minutes to go, when Rodney scored the equalizer, we were never ever going to lose it.

I didn't want to go home afterwards. Baggies fans were saying "if just one man beat us on his own, it was Marsh"

It was like Agincourt, The Battle of the Nile and VE day all rolled into one lovely half hour. No highlights on BBC in the evening though.

Football today is a poor relation in terms of entertainment in comparison to the 60's and 70's.

Money grubbers like Candleface have seen to that.

And if our club had the attitude back then, as it does now. Rodney Marsh wouldn't have got 40 plus goals that season, Rangers wouldn't have got to Wembley, and we would be like Brentford, without a solitary major trophy to our name.

It's becoming even more odd, how we wax lyrical about our biggest day out ever, and the way our club now disrespects the competition that gave us our only major honour.

And before anybody says , nobody cares about it anymore, tell that to 90,000 Chelsea and Manchester City fans watching their teams giving their all for 90 mins plus extra time and penalties at Wembley last week, to add yet another honour to their lengthy lists.
