Anyone got any recommendations for a good read during their summer holidays?
I've just started The Second World War by Antony Beevor, then plan to follow it up with his book on The Fall Of Berlin.

Perhaps `Churchill: Four faces and the man` , a collection of essays by internationally renown historians, each covering a different aspect of his life was a good read and might be up your street.
Advising a novel is trickier, but `The Great Gatsby` is just a great story. If you fancy something a little more challenging `American Pastoral` by Phillip Roth, or leftfield `Dirk Gently`s Holistic Detective Agency` by Douglas Adams.
If you want rip-roaring perhaps `Candide` by Voltaire, or `Black Bartlemy`s Treasure` by Jeffery Farnol - highwaymen, smugglers and pirates galore...
