I remember at home to Charlton in the early '70's, but I'm sure this couldn't be the last time.

And we scored them both that day!

EDIT That may have been two sending offs rather than two penalties!

opening day of Championship winning season, we beat Barnsley 4-0 and Adel and Helguson had a pen each! So 2010 the most recent i can remember.

Bare bones.

We got two pens against Barnsley in the Championship winning season in the first game. Helguson scored the first and Taarabt the second.

Correct, and before that it was AEK Athens at home in the UEFA Cup.

According to Gordon Maceys history books, there is no record of us scoring two in an away game. That doesn't mean it's never happened, there's just no record of it. A lot of games at start of 20th century don't have full details.
The same books say we've done it four times at home, not sure about two in a game but not both scored though apart from the one mentioned above under Hughes.

I must confess when I heard the words "let's go to the K-COM where there's a penalty" my first thought was 'FFS Barbet'.

Inconceivable, particularly away from home.

I was at the Athens game, and thought that I must be misremembering that Gerry Francis scored them both. Anyone remember why Stan didn't take them?

Gerry was our regular penalty taker the season before in 75-76. I don't think Stan had taken regular penalties since the season before that. In the 76-77 season Gerry was out injured until February and our penalties up until then had been scored by:

Masson v Norwich (L) Home
Givens v Slovan Bratislava (UC) Home
Givens v Derby (L) Home
Givens v Middlesbrough (L) Home

Gerry then came back and played eight consecutive games which included the home QF against AEK. The game before AEK he scored a pen against Leicester at home. He then missed another eight games before playing six of the last ten. In that period of eight games he missed, Don Masson was back on penalty duty scoring against Coventry at home.
