Heathrow, Rolls Royce and Airbus all written to the government asking them to bail Virgin out, how about Branson dipping into his personal wealth and helping out?

Virgin can go bust and the economy not affected too much, the others would be a problem. I suspect they will indeed be allowed to go bust.

The rest on that list will be bailed out.

Airbus is a multi national company. Registered in the Netherlands, it trades on the French, German and Spanish stock markets. Most production is in these Countries alongside a bit for UK, China, US and Canada. Therefore the EU should bale them out. Branson should seek help from whoever owns Necker Island or sell his shares.

Might be wrong now but...I think 40% of Airbus is/was made by Boeing.

Last thing I heard BA wasn't asking for a bailout, albeit seems like they want to furlough 36000 staff. They seem to want Virgin and others to go bust so that they will be the only big player left in the industry. That has it's own dangers.

Btw I believe Branson owns Neckar Island. What's that worth?

Bought in 1978 for 178,000k. About 75 acres and can accommodate 34 people. If you hang on for a year or so you may get lucky like Branson did when purchasing and find it’s going for a song.

Branson has got more front than Brighton to go cap in hand to the Government.

Dip into your billions man and pay your staff!

Paying taxes in the UK would also help for starters.

How can you seek to claim from something that you do not contribute to? (and I'm excluding UK staff who pay UK PAYE tax)

80% of Virgin Atlantic is owned by two overseas airlines, one of which is Delta. 20% owned by Virgin. Yes, there could be British jobs lost as a result of Virgin folding but I'm sure that many of those would get employed by other airlines who would look to take up the slack. Branson is a fraud and always has been, he lost his west coast rail franchise over not playing ball with staff pensions. He has always held himself up as the peoples champion yet continues to spunk his own dough on stupid egotistical trips such as the transatlantic balloon trip and now Virgin Galactica. Self-indulgent egotist in my book who has it coming. The only thing to possibly thankful for was to give the Sex Pistols a platform.

He upgraded basic rail and air travel. Sure there are a number of ‘bits’ - but his improvements to economy standard on trains and planes cannot be overlooked.
Never keen on him though, not that I knew him, just in his general locale a couple of times back in the punk days.

you need to be on the 4.10 from Euston.

Sitting only available on the floors, the vestibules and tables. reserved seats are a free for all.
seats where you couldnt see out the window, and prices that were well into triple figures for tickets to travel 200 miles.

Leased trains that in their second week had an engine fire (i was on it) and rattled as only crap built quality could manage.

only cared about it all when there was a photo opportunity.
