According to wickermanpedia, when he got to Charlton he was behind Tomer Hemed in the pecking order but got his chance when big Tomer was 'struggling with minor injuries'....
Know little about hi but those stats above seem okay... admittedly at 25 he’d be a late blossomer if we got him here and he kicked on replicating that.
We certainly need bodies but they need to be the right ones; hope this is being approached right and not yet panic as Hogan has gone to the Brum
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
Article says another offer was received on Tuesday (from another unnamed club going by the link in the story), and QPR's offer is the second Charlton have received.
Thought he was someone we should have been looking at when he was top scoring in non league, but then I was suggesting Chuks Aneke at the time too who Charlton also snapped up and that didn't go so well.
By most accounts Bonne is still fairly raw despite what his 11 goals last season might suggest - their fans are pretty split, distinct whiff of the Conor Washingtons in fact (and they signed him too of course).
Seems it could go either way with him. Wait a season for him to really convincingly find his feet and he'll be way out our price range though.
Can’t say I’ve paid much attention to him before this article, but his stats work and 1 in 3 for charlton last season is a good return in a relegated team - give him the opportunity that Warbs-ball can bring, he could be a great signing.
Case in point is the reduction in Wells’ goals return when he left Warbs-ball and joined Brizzle.
I guess its more than that. I guess they want £2m for him as Kiefer Moore went for around that he had the same scoring record for his last club as Bonne. Both have also played last season in the Champ.
I guess we probably offered like £750k and was told to go do one. And so the guessing game continues.
That’s a p*ss take. They paid £200k 12 months ago. His record last year may be worth £500k based on output we’ve seen from the likes of Matt Smith, but at £1m, I’d pass.
I don't see how what they paid for him last year bears the slightest relevance to his valuation now. If we sold an 11 goal 25 yo striker with years on contract for under a million - let alone half - we'd be screaming blue murder.
Suspect we've only chucked in a lowball bid to test the uncertain situation there and maybe get Bonne's agent horny.
