Players Loaned Out 18:28 - Sep 21 with 2495 viewsspell_chekker

Updated - Devitt Added.

We've sent a fair few players out on loan already this season. I though it'd be interesting to track the fortunes of them all throughout the season.

Calum MacDonald - Tranmere, season long.
Liam Feeney - Tranmere, season long.
Ben Garrity - Oldham, season long.
Ryan Hardie - Plymouth, season long.
Adi Yussuf - Wrexham, season long.
Nathan Shaw - AFC Fylde, season long.
Jamie Devitt - Newport County, season long.
Cameron Antwi - Southport, 'till January.

I've had a look in to why Garrity didn't feature for Oldham.

He hasn't even been in Oldham's squad for the last 3 matches.

His last appearance was his start at home to Carlisle. He was subbed in this game - replace by ex Fylde striker Danny Rowe.

In the following match, against Port Vale, there's no mention in the official match preview of him being an injury doubt.

It'd seem as though he doesn't figure in the manager's plans at the moment.

As an extra, I noticed that Bobby Grant who had a spell with us plays for Oldham.

Oldham's manager tested positive the other week for covid, then an unnamed player did as well.

Nottingham assist (cross from the right) - fast forward to 1m 20s.

Ha, the marauding full back (Nottingham) hits the post from a shot outside of the box on 2mins (keeper was beaten all hands down).

Keeper makes a wonder save from a Peter Clarke head on 2m 23s.

Feeney assist (corner kick) and Peter Clarke scores with his head on 2m 40s.

It's all Pool v Pool in this match. Even Spearing gets a touch leading up to Tranmere's first goal. MacDonald doesn't get a mention.

An all Pool goal.

Right from the start of the video, Bobby Grant (no.11) feeds Ben Garrity - Grant did well to get the cross in but it was lucky that the ball found its way through a forest of legs for Garrity to score.

Leave the vid on and just after the goal Grant combines with Danny Rowe to nearly score.

Bobby Grant breakaway goal on 1m 20s.

Good goal by Rowe, 1m 50s.

A few other touches in the rest.

Devitt is number 14 for Newport. There's something about his gait, or haircut, teeth, or whatever that makes him easy to spot.

Brief highlights suggest he's a luxury player. Drifting about, hardly breaking sweat, and then popping up with a couple of bits of skill.

Good shot from Devitt. 5mins

Great goal by Devitt. 6m 20s.

Oops just spotted Plymouth playing Portsmouth tonight. Hardie playing.

Hardie subbed after 63 mins just after Portsmouth scored from a penalty.

Played as a lone striker, caused the own goal and should have scored at start of second half. 9Actually it was a good block on the line by the defender).

Portsmouth just gone 2-1 up, god knows how, they've been poor in the first 60 mins.

I didn't realise there were any games tonight.

We're playing Portsmouth in a fortnight.

I know he's not setting the world alight at Plymouth but if we're going to play 4-4-2 and start with Madine, wouldn't Hardie be the ideal foil for the big man?

Same thing, waiting until Feeney, an exceptional crosser of the ball, and even Shaw are loaned out before giving the big target man his chance.

Just hope Madine and/or Yates don't get injured before the transfer window opens. Stating the obvious but we need a couple of strikers, and January is probably not the time to get them.

Yes, a couple of strikers is a must.

Also, we've got the full quota of 22 eligible players need to create a bit of space in the squad.

I'd say we've got 4 loans - Woodburn, Kemp, Gabriel, Ballard - with Woodburn and Ballard due to go back in January.

Shaw is ineligible so I'm not sure how many eligible players we've sent out on loan who'd be coming back in Jan. I think they're nearly all season long.

In principle, the squad'll now be more settled and we'll have slower transfer windows with the additions of quality. There are always bound to be one surprises with the players we move out but I'd say the obvious ones are as follows:-

Obvious players to move on - Thorniley, Howe.

Obvious to loan out - Antwi.

If we can't extend Ballard's loan, we'll need another Centre Half.

Agree about shipping out Thorniley and Howe.

I'd keep Antwi at the club, just so NC can keep working with him.

This is interesting stuff - the progress, or lack of it, of our loan players.

I'm too busy for the next few weeks until Christmas to keep it up but I'll contribute whenever I can.
