Blackpool have signed former Hull City and Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart on an 18-month contract.

The 27-year-old left Hull in the summer after three years and 78 appearances.

He played 20 times for Liverpool before a multi-million pound move to Humberside in the summer of 2017.

"I have known Kevin for a number of years now and he's an outstanding professional who will bring a lot to the club, both on and off the pitch," said Blackpool boss Neil Critchley.

"He's spent the last three years playing in the Championship and has also played in the Premier League for Liverpool.

"He's an experienced addition, capable of playing in different positions, and will be a big asset for us moving forward."

Looks like a very good signing who should perform in L1 as well as do well in the Championship.

In a 4-2-3-1, we need 4 of this type of central mids.

Stewart and Dougall to possibly be the 2 starters (should be very strong in L1). Robson and Virtue as cover. Williams shipped out. Antwi sent on loan.

That's if it all works out correctly!!

Yup, agree with that, part of a 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-3-1. Also as he's not played for 6 months, it feels like part of next season's plan.

Yes, it feels like a next season thing.

Even tough we've got others in the same position, it's got to be a good signing.

On paper, Stewart and Dougal would be formidable in L1 and would cut it in the Championship.

A strong pairing like that would allow the front players to express themselves without worrying.

IMO, we need the full backs sorting. In a "dream team", are Turton, Husband, Mitchell, Garbutt, and Gabriel able to give us what we want?

Spearheads too. Madine will be history when his contract's out.

Players will be out of contract in the summer and, in principle, our team will have specific targets for each position.
