Can see 5 or 6 being moved out

players under contract who I reckon might be loan out or sold -

Definitely:
Teddy Howe
Bez Lubala
Joe Nuttall
Nathan Robson
Oliver Sarkic
Jordan Thorniley

Possibly:
Keshi Andersong (highly doubtful but didn't score or assist anywhere near enough)
Demitri Michell (It depends who's available and where we're putting the bar. Not a first team starter in L1)
Matty Virtue (Possible. If Robson is going out then why keep Virtue?)

Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

Agree about Teddy Howe, Bez Lubala, Joe Nuttall, Nathan Robson and Oliver Sarkic

Not sure about Jordan Thorniley

Matty Virtue has an ACL injury so he's going nowhere for the rest of the year

Some of the youth players will need to go out on loan as we've no structure to give them game time

Husband re-signs on a 2 + 1.

It'll be interesting to see where Critchley favours playing him:

Husband Agrees New Contract

Defender Commits Future

Blackpool Football Club is pleased to confirm that James Husband has agreed to extend his stay with the Seasiders.

The defender, capable of playing at left-back or centre-half, has signed a new, two-year contract at Bloomfield Road, which includes the option of a further 12 months.

Since joining the Club from Norwich City in July 2019, initially on loan, the 27-year-old has made 68 appearances, including 38 en route to promotion in the 2020/21 campaign.

On his new deal, James Husband said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be staying with Blackpool for another two years.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here to date and the victory at Wembley last month was one of the best days of my life.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the team and how hard everyone worked throughout the season, and I’m now looking forward to playing in the Championship with Blackpool next season.”

With Connolly being so versatile I didn't know where to put him. I reckon he could be cover for Stewart and Dougall (meaning that at least one from Robson, Virtue, and Ward will be leaving) and so I'll stick him in a with the central / defensive midfielders for the moment.

GOALKEEPERS
Chris Maxwell, Stuart Moore, Daniel Grimshaw.

RIGHT BACKS
Teddy Howe, Sky Sinclair.

LEFT BACKS
James Husband, Luke Garbutt, Reece James.

Cameron Hill (I think his pro contract expires at the end of June, not sure).

CENTRAL + DEFENSIVE MIDFIELERS
Right: Kenny Dougall, Matty Virtue, Grant Ward, Callum Connolly.
Left: Ethan Robson.
Kevin Stewart (ambidextrous according to transfermarkt).
Nathan Tshola (I think his pro contract expires at the end of June, not sure).

Connolly could very well be mainly used as a central defender. His most recent experience, at Fleetwood, suggests as much.

In his interview he mentions speaking with Critchley and was happy with the position Critchley wants to play him in.

Out of all his loan spells (7 in total including 2 at Wigan) there's only Fleetwood who've extensively used him as a centre half.

Ipswich used him a lot at both defensive midfield and central midfield. Although not making too many appearances, other teams have favoured playing him in a midfield role (whether that be defensive, central, advanced, right, or left).

Try this on WhoScored, it's cool.

I reckon there are at least 5 signings to come.

If you take out Casey (U21), Howe, Antwi (U21), Carey (U21), perhaps Mitchell, Virtue, Nuttall and Sarkic.

That leaves us with 19/20 eligible players.

5 signings that must make a difference because we are short.

That's 22 squad places taken.

3 more spaces to be taken up by out of contract signings / January window / returning injuries.
