Blackpool will let Ethan Robson leave the club this summer, as per a report by Football Insider.

Blackpool will give the ‘green light’ for the midfielder to head out on loan for next season.

Robson, who is 24-years-old, is believed to be on the radar of Scottish Premiership duo Rangers and Motherwell.

Clubs in the Football League are also said to be keen on luring him away from Bloomfield Road.

Robson helped Blackpool gain promotion to the Championship last season and made 37 appearances in all competitions for Neil Critchley’s side.

He only joined the Tangerines last summer but they could let him leave already.

The left-footed midfielder started his career at Sunderland and went on to play 14 times for the Black Cats.

He had loan spells away from the Stadium of Light at Dundee and Grimsby Town to gain experience before he was released last year.

Blackpool swooped in for him and are now gearing up for life in the second tier. They have signed defender Reece James and goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw since sealing promotion.

I had high hopes for Robson and he could yet develop into a good player. He is 24 though !! and therefore should really be much further on in his career.

It doesn't seem as though Robson's the type of player to fit into our system. We have specialist midfielders - defensive midfielders and attacking midfielders. Robson isn't really either.

He'd be well suited to a the role of a central midfielder in a traditional 4-4-2 system. A type of box-to-box midfielder who does a bit of everything, everywhere on the pitch.

Robson's got a lot to his game, a real all rounder, and could come good but at 24 he's got to start getting a bit of a shift on.

To add that he fitted in and played well against Sunderland away when we played 3 at the back, wing backs and a narrow midfield diamond.

Forming the diamond we had Dougall holding, Kaikai advanced, Ward on the right, and Robson on the left.

We'd previously had problems asserting our game on the middle of the park and this was working very well indeed.

Kaikai, Ward, and Robson all got injured in this match and we haven't played the system since.

It goes to show that he can definitely find his niche somewhere though.

MK Dons currently in the play offs of what is a strong L1 this season.

He'd have to develop well but ff Robson helps them to do well this season I wouldn't write off his chances of appearing in tangerine again.

Happy to have Robson back, he could be a good player for us.

I thought he got a rough deal last season.

He started the season with next to no experience, playing as the lone defensive mid in an experimental system with a completely overhauled squad.

We switched to 2 defensive mids when we signed Dougall and he got injured around that time.

If he'd've started the season playing alongside the experienced Dougall, things could've been a lot different.

Robson's got a very good all round game and needs blooding correctly.

I had high hopes for Robson, I thought he had a lot of good attributes for a midfielder.

It's not going to work out for him now at BFC. He'll be moved on, very likely to MKD, and I'm sure he's got a decent career in front of him ....... somewhere else.

He'll go with our best wishes.
