Rotherham and Lincoln continue to monitor 7-goal forward as Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool also circle

Rotherham United and Lincoln City both sent scouts to watch Notts County forward Ruben Rodrigues in action for the National League side against Rochdale in the FA Cup on Tuesday night, according to Nottinghamshire Live.

Rodrigues has emerged on the radar of numerous clubs this season following his impressive form for Notts County in the National League this term.

The 25-year-old has managed to fire home seven goals in his 15 league appearances this term to date and that has played a major role in establishing them amongst the teams chasing automatic promotion to the Football League.

It has already been reported that both League One dup Rotherham and Lincoln are interested in making a potential move for Rodrigues ahead of the January transfer window. While there has also been reports that Championship Blackpool are also one of the other teams that are keeping a watchful eye over the forward’s development.

According to the latest report from Nottinghamshire Live, Blackburn Rovers are also potentially interested in Rodrigues and they have also been monitoring his performances for Notts County in the National League this season.

The report from Nottinghamshire Live added that Rotherham and Lincoln have once again sent scouts to watch the forward in action for Notts County. That came with the 25-year-old playing the full 90 minutes as the National League side were beaten 2-1 at home by Rochdale in the FA Cup first round.

The verdict

You would have to say that it is reaching the stage where Notts County are going to do very well to be able to keep hold of Rodrigues during the January transfer window considering that Rotherham and Lincoln are showing such an interest in his performances at the moment.
Rodrigues looks the sort of player that has the quality to progress beyond the National League and make an impact in the Football League.

Rotherham and Lincoln will both be searching for that extra bit of quality in the winter window to help them push for automatic promotion and the play-offs respectively and the 25-year-old might be someone that can come in and help them achieve that.

Blackpool and Blackburn are also very attractive potential destinations for Rodrigues given that they could offer him the chance to leap up to Championship level. However, whether he is ready to take that big of a step up remains to be seen and it will be interesting to see if either of the Lancashire clubs firm up their interest.

Cough up if you're a big club and want the player Forest.

Understand that Bowler has a market value and won't be sold on the cheap.

Have Forest played their hand badly?

Are they in panic mode?

Will they pay well over the odds?

Bowler will be sold this window.

Line the bidders up and then get a club capable of making panicky basket case decisions (Forest) to pay £5m for him.

Anything over £1M would be silly money imo. Can't see why they want him, unless they are selling Brennan Johnson

Swansea City’s Jay Fulton wanted by Barnsley and Blackpool

City this season. He’s featured just four times in the Championship and reports have suggested that the Swans are keen on offloading him in this month’s transfer window.

And now, Nixon has reported in The Sun on Sunday that Championship duo Barnsley and Blackpool are both looking into a deal to sign Fulton on loan this month, but that the Swans would rather sanction a permanent exit for the Scot.

Nixon then goes on to reveal that Blackpool could ‘push harder’ for Fulton in the coming week should they miss out on signing Cameron Brannagan from Oxford United.

Unfair treatment?

Fulton was a mainstay in the Swansea starting XI before Martin arrived in the summer. In Steve Cooper’s two seasons at the club, Fulton was one of the first names on the team sheet having racked up 81 Championship appearances over the course of the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

But he’s barely been given a chance this time round. A move looks to be in the offing for Fulton who will be raring to play some regular football, and a temporary move to either Barnsley or Blackpool could prove enticing.

Barnsley are struggling as it stands but Blackpool sit in the mid-table region, and so a move to the seaside could prove particular attractive.

But it could all depend on whether or not Swansea City will let him leave on loan — they want a permanent exit, but a loan with a view to buy could potentially work for all.

I've seen that Marquis has gone from Portsmouth to Lincoln.

He was a top striker in L1.

At 29, he doesn't fit our profile but all the same, what's happened there?

I though that Barker - on loan last season at Oxford from Rangers - had just as much potential as, if not more than, Johnson.

I don't know if he's injured or not but his Wiki page is in some kind of timewarp and hasn't been updated since last season:

From what I've seen of him, Kirk can play our all action / high tempo / pressing thing.

Obviously not a target- man but capable of playing anywhere in an advanced 3 behind a number 9.

A centre half, really?

Football Insider is a credible source:

Sources: Millwall and Blackpool join race to sign Wolves star Sanderson

Millwall and Blackpool have joined the chase for Wolves defender Dion Sanderson, Football Insider understands.

The centre-back, 22, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Birmingham City, is being made available for a loan again during this month’s transfer window.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Birmingham are keen to re-sign him along with Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers.

But the trio now face competition from Championship rivals Millwall and Blackpool.

The two clubs have also expressed an interest in Sanderson as they look to win the highly competitive race for his signature.

He is highly rated at Wolves too and signed a new four-year contract at Molineux over the summer.

Sanderson played 16 times for Birmingham this season helping Lee Bowyer’s side to keep seven clean sheets in the process.

Bruno Lage wanted him back at Molineux this month as defensive trio Romain Saiss, Willy Boly and Yerson Mosquera were unavailable.

He was named on the bench for Wolves in their last two games, including the 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday (15 January).

Toti Gomes, 23, made an impressive debut in the game and Sanderson may need to leave on loan to get regular game time.

As well as his spell with Birmingham this season, Sanderson has impressed on loan at Cardiff City and Sunderland in recent seasons.

He has played 26 times at League One level and 25 Championship games but is yet to make his Premier League bow for Wolves.

TBH I think NC only trusts Keogh, Big Marv and Hubby at CB at the moment

Casey's looking like a mistake and that'd be disappointing for the recruitment team.

Loan him out for the second half of the season rather than use a squad place.

U21 so not using a squad place.

One for the future so NC probably wants to coach him first.

I'd expect more of these types of signings when the academy is sorted
