Sammie Szmodics scored twice as relegated Peterborough ended the season on a high note by thrashing Blackpool at London Road.
Jonson Clarke-Harris opened the scoring after latching onto Kwame Poku's through-ball and rounding keeper Chris Maxwell - the striker's 12th goal of the season.
Szmodics fired home after being set up by Ricky-Jade Jones's chipped pass and then tucked away Harrison Burrows' low cross from the left.
Substitute Jack Marriott added the fourth from another Burrows cross and Jack Taylor capped a thumping Posh win with a brilliant 25-yard strike.
Peterborough have been relegated in four of the club's six seasons in the second tier but will fancy their chances of an immediate return.
Grant McCann's side showed they can cause team's problems going forward as below-par Blackpool were well beaten.
They have struggled badly at the other end of the pitch, however, conceding 87 league goals this season.
But the Tangerines, who finished the campaign in 16th place, failed to seriously trouble them.
Posh finished third bottom - four points adrift of 21st-placed Reading.
Peterborough manager Grant McCann:
"I thought we were on the front foot in everything we did. We limited them to very few opportunities on our goal and hopefully we can take that, moving forward.
"Today was about sending the fans home happy with a little bit of positivity. That, today, was for them.
"I felt a little bit embarrassed, a little bit ashamed, walking around at the end. We've shown our appreciation to the fans but it just didn't feel right, so hopefully next season we can walk around with a different sort of feeling.
"The front four were very, very good today, so it was a real good team performance, some really good goals.
"All in all, it was a real good day at the office."
Blackpool boss Neil Critchley told BBC Radio Radio Lancashire:
"It was not like us at all. We saved our worst performance until the last game of the season unfortunately.
"We were miles off it - just not good enough all over the pitch, in possession and out of possession.
"It's the first time in my two years here that I've really questioned the appetite and the application of the players.
"It will leave a bitter taste in the mouth over the next six weeks until we start pre-season.
"As soon as the second goal went in we just capitulated and it seemed like we just gave up."
