Was thinking this too. Palace will have a bigger budget now, need a bigger squad and will want to give it a real go after seeing what poor Spurs and Man UTD teams have been able to do. Shame but I reckon this win makes a sale less likely. |
 | Forum Reply | Is it time to admit that Ultras are the way forward? at 19:40 17 May 2025
Agreed. Young lads, supporting their team, singing all game long, creating an atmosphere, good luck to them. Especially as most Premier League London clubs are trying to move towards more Tourist Plastics and leave any real fans behind. Having said that, watching someone 'give it a go' with a megaphone in the lower loft would be quite funny. |

Kolli, Sutton and Eze all gave 'your mate Benny' credit for being here. And they're just the ones we've heard from. He was in charge during Chair's development too, and others like Manning, Seny... Eze has already saved us once financially and may do so again this Summer. £30 million + that we would never have had without Ramsey here. Feel free to list all the great youth team achievements/development before he got here. It was a fu*king mess for a good couple of decades. It was time to move on but going out of our way to denigrate him when he has clearly made some big contributions is poor form. If the new regime are building and improving on it all then fan-fkin-tastic. Anyway, what a great night. Really hope to see some of these boys contributing in the years to come. I agree with the posters who have said that the wording of the announcement clearly indicates some reticence on the club's part. Way too much detail in exactly how the extension was triggered compared to the normal contract information blackout. With a little bit of injury detail thrown in. I'm guessing that's based on the wage size as opposed to outright not wanting him around. Thinking back to Clive letting us know that the club had to bend over backwards (forwards?) and offer him very good terms just to agree to come here, you can understand how the new regime might feel he's overpriced especially with the injury situation. Feels like a lot of next season's stability will be about Cook and JCS's availability. |

I'm going to assume you're getting paid by Post Count. |

Mate, you've been completely and utterly found out. Point blank ignoring the oft repeated key question of how you had such specific insider knowledge, whilst presenting yourself as a regular fan with no connection to the club. You've obeyed PR rule No 1 and just completely ignored the question, pretend it was never asked whilst continuing to make other empty, often abrasive, posts. I can assure you without a shadow of a doubt that your remit to provide good PR for your boss has completely backfired and he will be less trusted by some fans as a result of your amateur efforts. Christian, you should be demanding your money back, you've hired a complete dud. [Post edited 4 May 18:29]

I agree Brian... But the level of detail on the precise way in which Marti was disliked/ not trusted by people at the club is presented in such a way as can only be Insider Knowledge. One post later, he is 'nothing to do with the club'. So which is it CharlieB? Presenting very detailed guesswork as fact? Or contact with various people inside the club? Or.... Surely worth checking whether our beloved LFW is being unartfully played by clumsy PR efforts. We have a wonderfully mixed church here with much love, disagreement and exasperation flowing. But the one thing you always expect/hope for is that you are talking with actual people, actual QPR fans. Like I said this thread isn't about Marti V Nourry for me, there's good and bad to be said for both parties, I agree with some of CharlieB's other points but given the obvious PR campaign currently running (see Lassel's earlier post) it's worth checking on posts like Charlie's just in case. Opinions of fans is great, PR guff can f**k right off! Ps Apologies if you're genuine CharlieB! But if you are how do you know so much? |

Firstly. Nice one, really pleased for the day out you lot must have had after the last couple of weeks. Second. What was the general vibe re Marti and such? Was his song getting a good airing etc? Thirdly. I didn't get to see anything after the game. Were there any players obviously saying/waving goodbye? How did it all feel at the end? |
 | Forum Reply | Season perspectives at 08:55 4 May 2025
Sure Ned. I'm not planning to get in to the Marti V Nourry stuff particularly. That's been (and will be plenty more) done to death. Just saying things like this - "From what I’ve heard, he wasn’t well-liked behind the scenes either. Stubborn, slow to adapt, quick to deflect when things went wrong – and very happy to take the praise when they didn’t." Would surely indicate that the poster has an inside link or two. |

I feel everyone is right about him. Looked like he was a no hoper a few months back and has clearly improved his application and work rate to go with the obvious technical ability. But as Brian points out that stuff can easily return to the mean. It is a challenge for the more naturally laid back types to permanently convert to working hard to make themselves available for the ball and the Sam Field School of the Permanently Switched On Defensive Dog. But not impossible... Really could go either way next season, can't wait to find out. |

For someone with no connection to the club you have a remarkably detailed account of staff's experience, viewpoint and internal thoughts of Marti! I'll agree with you on Dembele though. Scored a couple of cracking goals and a nice assist (plus what would have been assist of the season with outside of his boot to Ashby) recently but some seem keen to dig him out. Defensive side clearly needs work but his ability to produce quality is much needed around here. |

Love how he's been running around dishing it out like an over worked bouncer in a rowdy weatherspoons! |

To protect the more sensitive among us how about we all agree to nothing post Agincourt? Ashby was about as useful out wide as the French Archers at Agincourt. Stay Marti, please. [Post edited 26 Apr 7:51]

Twist. 100%. No point expecting a better season than battling relegation/ending up 16th if we are giving out new contracts to players who have performed like Fox. Let's at least try to improve. Thanks for your efforts, no hard feelings, firm handshake, good luck and all that. |

Agree with the Madsen position switch. Looked wrong from the off. Don't forget Kolli is only 19, Eze and Chair hadn't even gone on loan yet at his age. Plus this is not an easy team to come into as an attacking player and look fluid. |
 | Forum Reply | The Madsen rehabilitation thread at 17:27 21 Apr 2025
Yeah, I wasn't very optimistic when I saw the team sheet. And all this having different players starting in different positions all the time hardly helps our, already poor, patterns of play. (I appreciate the part injuries play in this but still). Swansea looked like a team who knew where someone was going to be to receive a ball and where they might move to. We just look so lost too often. Why wasn't Dembele starting? I was baffled from the off. Needs minutes, clear quality and what about using now to see if he can develop some understanding with Kolli, Madsen and others who will be here this year. [Post edited 21 Apr 17:28]

It was the only way he was going to score. He wanted absolutely no business getting on the end of a cross today. |
