Reminds me of that Millwall forum post from years ago where the guy was furious because someone had booked his seat, that someone being he himself. [Post edited 5 Jun 9:00]

Pretty interesting, by this metric Armstrong is a better converter of chances than Dykes. And I guess you could also say Armstrong converts exactly what you would expect him to, based on the opportunities he has been given, or made for himself. Edit: converts isn't quite right, more like "efforts worthy of a goal"

| Forum Thread | Marti got that one wrong at 22:43 14 Feb 2024
Big fan of Marti, think the slender hope of staying up is largely down to him and the changes he's made. But he got that wrong, didn't he? Looked like he set up to attack with pace on the break, using sinclair supported by three nippy little guys behind him. It didn't really work, because of a combination of poor long ball distribution out of defence, sinclair poor decision making (offsides and poor attempts at buying free kicks), and EFL secret meeting agreeing to never award armstrong a decision. You can see the thinking behind it, but looked a doomed plan from midway through first half. Second half we were always going to be camping out trying to break them down, and felt like the subs that came would have been useful from half time. But he didn't change it up until 70 or so mins, and although Frey, Andersen, Willock felt like the correct subs, by that point we were really chasing the game it became madcap and disjointed . |

| Forum Thread | The impending pronunciation culture wars at 13:22 2 Nov 2023
Just finished watching Clive on Talking Rangers, where Charlie gallantly goes with THI-fuentes, whereas Clive doggedly insists on SI-fuentes. Reminds me of a similar dynamic in my house where I, a woke snowflake, (correctly) insist on pronouncing Chile as Chi-LAY, and valet as va-LAY, but my wife, working class salt of the earth, mocks me with CHI-lee and VA-let. One problem with the correct pronunciation of Cifuentes is that it's going to be a mouthful when getting animatedly angry about him, especially after a few ales. |
| Forum Thread | 4-2-3-1 formation at home? at 07:29 27 Sep 2023
I've been thinking about Ainsworth might experiment with different set-ups, especially at home. Potentially: -----------------Dykes Chair------------Dozzell---------Smyth/Willock ------------------Colback---Field Paal--------Dunne/Fox----Cook------Reggae Cannon Paal and Cannon are both good attacking options as fullbacks, which could provide the width we've sometimes lacked. We've struggled defensively in the past, hence the back three with wingbacks we currently use, but potentially Colback and Field sitting in front of the back four would provide some cover. I'd also like to see the much maligned Dozzell given a run in a more attacking position, see if we can coax a player out of him Edit: Also, no goal keeper, fvck it [Post edited 27 Sep 2023 7:30]

Just a great attitude from a player that could easily get frustrated by the lack of attacking flair in the rest of the squad. Nothing but admiration for the guy At 25 years 327 days, Ilias Chair is the youngest player to reach 200 competitive appearances for #QPR since Andy Impey (25y 117d) vs Barnsley in January 1997 (Impey was sent off).
