Daytrippers- How is it where you are?
at 10:37 31 Mar 2021

Social distancing appears to be a distant memory already on the east coast as the beaches get busier. The simple task of taking your own litter away seems to be beyond the capability of a large proportion of visitors as well.

There appears to be no middle ground. It appears the view held by most day trippers is the country has restrictions or it has not. Common sense has disappeared again.

Well that was a mistake
at 16:50 7 Feb 2021

I have from time to time read and on the odd occasion posted on AVFTT. My contributions have been weeks or months apart.

I suppose in hindsight it was inevitable that I would be sucked into a debate that led to me reaching for my blood pressure medication and questioning the future of humanity. I have now unpinned the site.

A small mistake in the scheme of life and lockdown but frustrating when there was no need to enter a debate which was in hindsight only going one way.

Is self control or self expression more important?

Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine-Is this really the beginning of the end for covid.
at 12:57 10 Nov 2020

I want to be excited by this development but it still seems a long way away to me.

I will be the first in any queue for this yet in a recent poll the majority surveyed were still not convinced of the safety of any vaccine.

Will the UK be among the first to use it as is suggested, if so it will be the first time we have been leading from the front.

Common sense YEAH RIGHT !!!!!
at 18:13 25 Jun 2020

A police force and south coast council have pleaded with people to stay away after services were “stretched to the absolute hilt” when thousands of sunseekers flocked to beaches amid the heatwave.
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council said it had no choice but to declare a major incident and condemned the “irresponsible” behaviour of crowds who gridlocked roads, dumped rubbish, parked illegally and some who reportedly got involved in fights.
Extra police patrols have been brought in and security is in place to protect refuse crews who the council said faced “widespread abuse and intimidation” as they emptied overflowing bins.
Thirty-three tonnes of waste was cleaned up along the full stretch of coastline on Thursday morning, in addition to eight tonnes collected between the piers on Wednesday, the council said.
It issued 558 parking enforcement fines, a record number, and said extra parking enforcement is now in place.
Council Leader Vikki Slade said: “We are absolutely appalled at the scenes witnessed on our beaches, particularly at Bournemouth and Sandbanks, in the last 24-48 hours.
“The irresponsible behaviour and actions of so many people is just shocking and our services are stretched to the absolute hilt trying to keep everyone safe. We have had no choice now but to declare a major incident and initiate an emergency response.”
The council said there had been “a number of incidents reported which involved excessive alcohol and fights”.

How long do you think Covid has been in Britain?
at 10:26 28 Apr 2020

Many are now convinced they had the symptoms in November/December last year.

Deaths at this time could have been classified by a patients "underlying conditions".

Did anyone have the symptoms last year?

Morality in society today
at 19:35 5 Apr 2020

Is there any future for the human race.

Look at the world today, from world leaders, heads of industry and commerce to footballers who influence our youth.

All the wealth but not an ounce of compassion or common sense between them.

How lucky we are

Bolton, Bury, Coventry and Sunderland still have many issues and there are more.

We can think about the football this season. For me that makes. us one of the lucky ones.
