Antoine Freezman bids adieu – Column
Excellent in many ways (and sad) but well done for defending Dave Mc and local journalism. It amazes me the flak he gets and I now think it is simply that people are jealous of the fact he has good sources.
The late late show - Report
lost in the mists of the last 2 minutes but Sylla not as effective when he starts rather than coming on later and causing chaos.
I support Olly but he is a worry - he does not look in great shape and I hope we get the rub of the green in the next few weeks to ease the pressure on him.
QPR come up short despite late rally - Report
Added to the early points you make about trying to discern form is the fact we seem better (as we did on Friday) against teams who are comfortable in possession- who we can press and harry-than we are against more direct outfits (who leave us with the ball) who make up a fair proportion of this league. Finding a way for this squad to perform in those circumstances will i think be key to how this season goes.

Love those McCarthy quotes. I actually met him and his family in a non football environment many years ago and they were all lovely decent people. Makes you wonder how has he stayed in football so long as although he finds himself being compared to Warnock and Redknapp they are very different in the 'removing pants from naive owners' stakes.

Great article there in a number of ways and I actually found the liitle clincher about Anna and her kids quite moving! We have to say the media side at QPR has been very good (in that they try) and it is clear those guys work hard to get things right.
QPR the perfect party guests once more – report
I thought there was a game plan. Just it was the wrong one and was executed poorly.
The plan such as it was must have been to sit and soak for the first half and then gradually to try and push forward as the game went on.
I thought they were most vulnerable if you got at them early - Johnny Evans looked like he was on roller skates.
Lack of legs in midfield is perhaps the excuse for not planning a pressing style.
Important though to not overreact and the game on saturday like the sunderland is a far better tell.
Hateley, are you gonna be the one who saves me? History
That match against Tottenham was my then girlfriend, now wife of 15 years one trip to LR. I had assured her that football was no longer prone to violence and we took up our seats in the lower loft. Unbelieveably we went 2-0 up ( for that year). In the second half it all went to pish. As spurs equalised the spotty young man in front of her stood up, removed his tracksuit and revealed a shiny new Spurs shirt and started, in the parlance of the day giving it large. The large burly gentleman sitting immediately behind her who had until this point been largely silent delivered a classic left hook knocking out said spotty teenager cold. He collapsed onto my Mrs and took several minutes to remove - carried out by stewards. The portly gentleman resumed his seat with a ringing round of applause although to be fair he did apologise to my lady. She has not been back since.
Through the middle for Paul Furlong… - history
Tremendous account of the Oldham night. My brother couldnt come for work related reasons and i ended up bringing a Leeds supporting colleague who still talks about that night in incredulous tones to this day. Best atmosphere at a game he has ever seen apparently.
Austin keeps ragged Rangers on course - report
I thought Carroll looked frightened when the ball came to him in the first half. Birmingham had acres of space in midfield in the first half and it was a reminder of how important that area of the pitch is. O Neill had to tuck in meaning no outlet on one side. When we went 5 in midfield we were very reluctant to use the width of the pitch though and perhaps they could have a look at that in training today.
Stoke defeat begins QPR’s long goodbye – full match report
Odd atmosphere as well - everyone sitting talking to neighbors and only half watching the game - not sure I remember a so called competitive game like that really.
It looked like a number of players only half committing because they did not want to pick up an injury at this point before the summer move. Very sad.
You’re fat, and your bird’s… Full match preview
Best preview ever.
Missed Gareths goals and Roys genius but will love southampton and the old den forever because of that day. Fat bloke should be given some sort of lifetime award for making me happy. My father in law and bro in law are sotun fans and decent people but as always more in hope then expectation here I am on a friday night with a fair amount of single malt consumed thinking rangers will rip them a new one tomorrow!
