What does everyone make of this Greta Thunberg debate?

"Critics say group is not doing enough to involve people of colour, or expose links between climate crisis and inequality"

Thanks, Loftboy.

Can we please stop global temperatures from rising by +2°C before we solve the problems of racial discrimination or economic inequality? It appears to be more pressing.

Concurrent progress is fine, but my kids need to know, climate wise...

'They [species] disappear at the rate of 25 a day, I mean regardless of our behaviour, irrespectively...Let them go gracefully. Leave Nature alone."

Loathsome complacency.

Maybe not in your time, but there was a large commercial bakery, can't remember the name of it, near the end of the road, on the left, going north. When I went past there were several of their vans loading up of a morning. Sometimes a cake would go missing.

Avondale Park Primary, my old school: seven past and contemporary pupils and staff died in Grenfell. God rest their souls. Avondale Park, btw, named after a Prince of Wales who died young.

Holland Park (next to my old school) for it's semi-natural woodland.

Round Pond and Serpentine Lido.

Avondale Park.

No warming in the last five years? Try these last five years...

...but you know this, don't you? We are going through a very well-reported spate of record global temperatures.

He doesn't address CO2 as a greenhouse gas. Instead he waves distractions such as water vapour as a greenhouse gas and CO2 as a necessary (that is, needed) component of Earth's atmosphere, both true but not relevant.

CO2 is transparent to solar radiation, but reflects back more of the longwave infrared which the solar radiation is converted into. This is why it is a 'greenhouse' gas. And the 40% increase in atmospheric CO2 since the Industrial Revolution is driving the rapid current increase in temperature. We are causing this.

Beeb Blackburn Preview
at 14:11 4 Oct 2019

Can anyone figure out what is going on with this one?

We are now PRY and there are some silly comments in parentheses.

"Match Facts
In all competitions, PRY are winless in 15 meetings with Blackburn (WE DO ALL), losing the last four in a row.
Blackburn are unbeaten in their last 10 visits to Queens Park Rangers in all competitions (WE DO LOW) since losing 1-0 in November 1993.
PRY are one of only two Championship teams yet to keep a clean sheet this season, along with Luton Town.
Tony Mowbray won his only previous league meeting with PRY manager Mark Warburton in April 2017, winning 1-0 with Blackburn against Warburton's Nottingham Forest.
Only Stoke (23.7%) have had a lower percentage of their shots on target than PRY in the Championship this season (23.8% - 34/143)."

Why cite the rankings from after the game?

It's all right. I get it. It hurts.

I cannot explain how Russia beat Ireland at all. The gap between the two sides in terms of skills, training and experience is too wide. It just should not have happened.

[Edit} Sorry, "how Japan beat Ireland".

That's why it took a while for Japan to know what hit them.
