Whicker’s World; Dieng departs; Love Island smoking area — Austria Part One
at 19:11:40

That's fantastic - the report not the 'game', obvs. I'm reading it on a train and getting some strange looks (no livestock on board though- as far as I know. You should work for the Austrian Tourist Board.

One thing - 1.29 - the third goal and the crowd shot - what is Gary Lineker doing there? Sign him up regardless of his age, defo.

Thanks Clive - excellent preview as always with tremendous levels of research and superb critique of the scourge of parachute payments which so blight and distort the second tier.

But why when we play West Brom at home do I I always think about Walsall and 99/00. Just still grates.

Coming full squared circle - Report

Thanks very much Clive - consistently excellent reports in this most inconsistent of seasons. Really appreciated, especially the Away Days which 'took me' to places in the UK I have never been with such great humour and real melancholy. Superb stuff.

Ah jimjams, love the innocence of your question, answered by PP.

Structural engineers may put me right, but I swear to this day that the place literally, as well as figuratively, shook.

Rangers run ragged by rampant Tykes — Report

Thanks loads Clive - great write-up. I guess our only mitigation (re your 'real quiz' para) is that Barnsley weren't hit by FFP like we were?

Brilliant write-up Clive - we are where we are (that sounds a bit close to JFH - apologies...).

One thing I would disagree with is, inevitably, your assessment of the 'going down' bit. We might only need 3/4 wins but the difference is that the crp at the bottom this term is not the reliable crp (Sunderland, Bolton, Rotherham. Burton) that we have had the luxury of in recent seasons. Barnsley stuck 5 through us, Wigan still look perky and Luton won the other night in fine spirit too. We may need some way north of 50 pts this season - that troubles me with our 'fighters' departing. In Rangers we trust....

LOVE that 4th para from the end (begins, 'There is, however, something about a midweek football match...') SO true, and sad, in every way....Thanks Clive.

0-2 Forest btw.

Tough battle ahead in ongoing war with FFP - Column
at 09:22:29

Superb article, Simon - thank you.

Yes, it all confirms what many of us have been saying - the football season 2019/2020 is THE season for Rangers. We really have to master the alchemist's art with what we have and just try and get through and emerge the other end as a Championship club. This club has been well run since 2015 (IMHO) and if we can secure 21st place or above after West Brom away then all of the recent god work (IMHO) will start to bear fruit.

End of Term Report 18/19 - Defenders
at 13:06:07

'Every American you meet talks like today is the greatest thing that’s happened to them and they’re the best thing in it, whereas every British person you meet sounds like they spent an hour looking into a mirror telling themselves what a c**t they are before leaving the house.' Just brilliant stuff - 'nail on head' - so insightful and SO true.

Thanks Clive for this and all the summaries. Superb.

Thanks very much for the report, Clive

One slight thing – are you a tad complacent (given events this season) or is my notoriously bad maths worse than I thought?? If Swansea and ourselves both get beaten tomorrow that could, potentially, put us 5 pts above the drop zone in advance of Monday’s defeat at Derby.

If we win tomorrow, and Rotherham don’t, then I definitely will join you in that Peroni….

Happy Easter.

I can only add to the massive chorus of general goodwill above.

Clive, for those who don't get along as much as we used to, you are our eyes and ears into Rangers and I owe you a massive debt of gratitude. Always insightful, witty, heartfelt, accurate and informative; you do a remarkable job of keeping a global Rangers fanbase informed and emotionally involved in their club. Rangers would be a lesser club without you; end of.

Please keep up the excellent work and Happy New Year to you and everyone at LFW.,

QPR fightback floors Fulham - Report
at 10:19:45

Thanks Clive - another great write-up of another fine result.

On the 'Word of Warning' - something that occurs to me is this nagging issue of us and International Breaks. I can't remember when we came 'tearing out of the blocks' after one of them - we always seem to struggle. Last season's late 'collapse' started in this way (Derby away, straight after 2-week break following Rotherham 5-1) ) and others have been similar. Maybe we are more reliant on Mass then we think?! Something for the club to be wary of.
