QPR continue to slide as Saints set off on new march – Report
at 08:58 7 Nov 2025

Thanks Clive - "Send a glass eye to sleep" Magical.

We are the masters of false dawns - We have become "oh" far to predictable again. Sheff Utd must be rubbing their hands.

Personally I would go with a 5,3,2 formation and try to grind out a point to stop the rot. We need to bin the midget 10's as they will be bullied Saturday. We can always bring them off the bench at 70 minutes if needed and we are chasing the game.

Where does Chair sit now?
at 09:23 6 Nov 2025

As much as I love Chair I think he should be a bench player for now. As stated previously we always seem to pick up more points when he is injured or as under Warburton at AFCON. Appreciate he is not a defender or goalkeeper and we need improvements there but our attacking threat drops considerably when he starts. When he came off the bench at Preston away last season and Swansea this season he can really add value with fresh legs and a tiring defence.

His set pieces were also really poor last night. I think his teammates are also frustrated with him.

As I say I love Chair but there is definitely something not right with us when he starts games.

Nice one Clive - I would be happy with a point. We seem to have been sussed out by opposition managers and teams so maybe throw a curveball in like a 3,5,2 tonight.

Southampton… How do we think we will line up?
at 16:17 5 Nov 2025

I think Chair is better coming of the bench as he did at Preston last season and Swansea this season.

Unfortunately when he starts we seem to lose far more points than we gain. It continues to happen. Chair injured or at AFCON we seem to do OK. Chair comes straight back into the team we start to look shaky again.

Must be something in it.......and by the way I love Chair.

Worst places you have visited for an AWAY day fixture !!
at 07:28 30 Oct 2025

The Manor Ground in the nineties with Ray Hartford as our manager. Always hated that open away end especially in the pissing rain as it was that particular day watching one of the worst (if not the worst) QPR performance of all time.

I did question my sanity that day.

From a Liverpool Message Board…..
at 06:46 30 Oct 2025

Saw this on a Liverpool Messaage Board ( Don’t ask) Made me laugh as it reminded me of articles on here over the years. So I guess shit happens at all clubs even bloody Liverpool……….Imagine them supporting a club like QPR

What is Arne Slot getting wrong? Allow me. Where to even start.

Firstly, we’re too easy to set up against and that’s on Slot’s tactical setup. His system invites teams to sit deep in low-blocks, absorb our slow, predictable possession play, and break into acres when we lose the ball. He knows it — he’s even admitted it and broadcasted it to everyone in interviews — but he hasn’t changed anything about it.

Then the tempo is all wrong. This is a manager who talks about control, but it’s killing us. His idea of “controlled possession” has drained all spark out of our play. There’s no punch, no gear change — just half-arsed tippy-tappy patterns that get broken up or ultimately go nowhere anymore.

Set pieces are a disaster zone — and that reflects coaching. We’ve only scored once from a dead ball in the league all season. Meanwhile, we can’t defend them either. That’s a preparation problem. And it’s costing us goals every single game.

His team selections don’t build chemistry. He’s chopping and changing, but nothing’s working. The front three doesn’t link. The midfield lacks bite. It’s like he’s guessing combinations rather than building understanding.

Like Nikky says, he’s not handling players well. Kerkez looks broken — played out of position, misused, and overexposed. There’s no excuse for this because Robbo’s come in and done well every time we needed him. Szoboszlai, our in-form central midfielder, is in and out of the right-back position. Gravenberch — our only recognisable DM when fit — has either been dropped into centre-back or given license to roam forward. When he uses Curtis, he often leaves only Wirtz sitting alongside him late on in games, but this combination doesn’t work — Wirtz needs to play further forward and isn’t a sitting midfielder.

As a result of the tactical shape Slot plays when we start games — and the mismanagement of how players are redeployed within games — we always lack numbers in midfield and fail to shield the back four. The attack are also too far ahead of the midfield, waiting for a magic pass or piece of build-up play that never comes.

Confidence is eroding because roles make no sense. There’s no conviction, passion or physical edge anymore. That intensity we were known for? Gone. And that comes down to Slot’s philosophy. As well as demotivating the players by not using them properly, he’s prioritised positional shape over pressing fire — and it’s left us passive, second to everything, lacking fight, and mentally soft. We’re not dropping under-performers, or rewarding players like Chiesa with starts in the side based on merit, which doesn’t incentivise the starting XI to compete for their spots.

Worst of all, there’s no sign at the moment that Slot is learning from this, or equipped to deal with it. He isn’t reacting properly between games or adapting the shape tactically to correct these problems — and now he’s too slow to react even within games when we’re under fire. There’s no flexibility in how we set up, so we start every match on the back foot. We go behind, we drift. Teams go ahead and sit deep — and we play straight into it. Then, for about 20–30 minutes in the second half, we suddenly look dangerous — not because of anything planned, but because the right players, in the right positions, happen to be on the pitch at the same time, for a brief period. That’s when we rely on a bit of individual magic to get us out of jail.

For all the talk of modern ideas, we look rigid and reactive. That’s on the manager.

Some of us are trying to be patient. But Slot needs to wake up. This is the Premier League — not a Dutch coaching seminar. If he doesn’t take responsibility and adapt fast — really fast — the entire fanbase will turn, and so will the FSG board.

At least half the fanbase is already there actually. There’s no more credit in the bank. Slot needs a decent run of wins immediately, playing in a recognisable, repeatable way.

At this point, I’m not holding my breath.

Rant over. 🔴

Ramshackled R’s end three-game week on a bum note at Derby – Report
at 20:52 27 Oct 2025

Thanks Jamie - Great report from what seems like a complete no show.

We did Derby away last season and it was pitiful. Sounds like Saturday gave it a run for its money.

I didn't even bother with the stream so went and watched my local non league team instead.

Whilst our uncle Tony made many financial howlers the current owners all seem to have our back financially and for that I am truly grateful.

As in a previous post I would love Clive to have some time with Ruben and put it out in a podcast.

QPR's road warriors sink ten-man Swans - Report
at 15:55 24 Oct 2025

Top Man Clive thank you - Great report with loads of little bits and pieces in to make me smile. Don't know why but I always enjoy your report more on the second reading - Must be my age.

Anyway glad you mentioned Field - I also get annoyed reading negative stuff about him on social media. The guy is a top pro and a very important figure in the dressing room and will continue to have a big part to play at this football club.

And as for Madsen well - I am going to be violently sick if I have to keep eating this humble pie. Absolutely incredible turnaround.

I'm still struggling to come to terms with what's happened since the Coventry debacle but my god keep it coming........

We went in The C&S Saturday and whilst the London Pride was ok it wasn't at the same standard as the old Landlord used to get it.

He used to have it spot on everytime.

The pie mash and liquor was bland Saturday too - Definitely missing something.

Maybe it's just me..........

Thanks Clive - Great analysis of the current state of affairs in The Championship with some hilarious sound bites added too.

Cracking assist from our friend Sinclair Armstrong last night and he even managed to stay onside although if you slow it down even that was marginal.

Anyway safe travels to everyone heading into the depths of Wales on a Wednesday night in October. I salute each and every one of you. I will be watching at home in front of the fire with the kids shouting at the TV as per usual.
