Granero Song idea - Side on: How do you get a player song going?
at 13:11 24 Oct 2012

I'm risking either being completely ignored, ushered out quietly, or being ripped to pieces but here goes:

I think a Granero song might be in order and given the guy is called 'The Pirate', I think it'd be a crying shame not to marry that to some sort of pirate themed song.
I opt for 'Whiskey In The Jar' by Thin Lizzy which is a pirate shanty and is in keeping with QPR's strong Irish connections; Thin Lizzy being Irish for anyone who doesn't know.

Disclaimer: I am an adult with a sense of humour. This is not the result of my life's work.

As he was running over the W12 mountains
He saw the rival Captain and possession he was counting
He first revealed his magic, and then produced his quick draw
He said, “Stand and deliver” or the Pirate he will take ya

Esta-G-R-A-N-E-R-O (dum dum du-dum)
Este-ban Gran-er-o
Este-ban Gran-er-o
He’s our Pirate on the park-o

*Sing main riff with "dums"*

Having never started a song I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has either started or been around when a long-standing song has been started.

If only to deflect from the impending ridicule I'm likely to receive.

I haven't been this nervous since...

... I had to tell Christopher Walken he was parked too close to my car.

... I was Samba Diakite's anger management sponsor and he had my home address.

What about you?

Basic Geometry and the Ghost Goal
at 08:47 11 Mar 2012

We know it was a goal as does everyone. No one can argue that and no one will. I've seen many a ghost goal where the ball has struck the woodwork and physics has conspired with geometry to make the ball spin the opposite way and thus makes the ball bounce illogically when it hits the ground. However yesterday you couldn't get a more meat and potatoes example of what a linesman should be able to see regardless of whether that Toby Jones looking douchebag had two players in the way of the line or not.

Clint Hill heads --> Ball crosses line --> Ball strikes Bogdan's arm and heads back out and UP towards the crossbar at a 45degree angle --> Ball hits crossbar and bounces out and DOWN at a 45degree angle.

To end on a high note; at least this phenomena is out of the way now. Unless the team get radiation poisoning I don't think we could be any unluckier in a season... and obviously not very good.

Does anyone recall an unluckier set of events to hit a team in recent times?

Shared a powerfully awkward moment with a QPR player?
at 12:27 22 Feb 2012

I'm sure many a fan on here has spent time with a QPR player either autograph hunting as a kid, or later at meet and greets, or even sat beside them in the stands. Would anyone care to share?
As a kid I once asked Lee Harper to sign my programme whilst he was warming up before an away game at Oxford (I think). He jogged over, grabbed my marker, ignored the outstretched hand holding the programme and scribbled on my brand new Away Kit. I jumped back and told him that I wanted the programme signed whilst pawing at the shirt like he'd spat coffee on it. I'd never seen a more confused look on a grown man's face before or since. He did apologise though.
