All you need to know about getting there on Saturday

Formerly known as, and still referred to by most as Brisbane Road, the official title of the ground is The Matchroom Stadium, rebuilt on three sides over the past decade or so, its now a compact ground with a 9,271 capacity that is ideal for Orient and the size of their fanbase.

Getting there

Car

A long drive unless you want to take the straightest route and battle your way through central London traffic, the quickest route would be to take the M3 and head North on the M25 towards Heathrow, staying on the M25 till junction 25, here take the A10 towards London, at its junction with the north Circular (approx six miles) take this road and head East bound and stay on the North Circular for approx 3 1/2 miles, at the Crooked Billet take the A112  south bound and this will take you right down to Leyton High Road with the ground being just off this road on your right.

Parking

Parking is street parking around the ground, be aware that there are parking restrictions in some areas and these are strictly enforced.

By Train

There is some confusion as to whether the simplest tue route  from Waterloo  taking the Northern Line to Tottenham Court Road and here changing for the Eastbound Central Line where its approx 20 minutes to Leyton is available due to building work at TCR , alternatively take the Jubillee line from Waterloo to Stratford and change here for the central Line to Leyton Station from there its a 10 minute walk to the ground. If you want to go via Central London, Leicester Square Tube then Picadilly Line changing to Holborn on the central is an alternative.

The Ground

Like last year Saints have the whole of the East Stand, which is unfortunately the old part of the ground and therefore is cramped and has some obstructed views due to pillars etc, however due to the roof its excellent for making a lot of noise.

Drinking Etc

There is a supporters Club under the West Stand which does admit visiting supporters for a £1 and is recommended, however it does get very busy so if you are intending using this it is advisable to get there early.

Otherwise there are several pubs on Leyton High Road near to the ground, for real ale lovers the Birbeck is behind The Tube station in a residential area, and can be found by coming out of the station, turning right towards the ground then immediately taking another right and over an overpass and the pub is right there behind the station.

If you choose to have a drink in Central London remember that its a good 20 minute tube journey, plus a ten minute walk to the ground, alternatively there are also some good pubs around Liverpool Street Station, which being on the Central Line is only about 10 minutes from Leyton.
