TRANSFER: Brann hopeful on Huseklepp after Rodolphe seals Leeds deal

Brann Bergen's sporting director is cautiously optimistic the Norwegian club can bring Erik Huseklepp back to the club from Pompey, despite having to negotiate a 'small maze'.

Rolf Magne Walstad was talking after agreening the transfer of midfielder Austin Rodolphe to Championship side Leeds United, which will free up funds for the Huseklepp deal.

Norway international Huseklepp left Brann in 2011 for Bari, then signed for Pompey in the summer of that year when Bari were relegated from Serie A.

Local business have pledged to support the club with funds to bring back the popular Huseklepp, who is also being tracked by Valarenga and Rosenberg.

'As we have said earlier there is a small maze to get through with Erik. There are indications that it is going in the right direction, but I do not know yet what it will become. We hope very strongly [that Huseklepp will return],' Walstad told the Norwegian press.

Huseklepp was at the Pompey training ground this morning, where he accepted a letter from SOS Pompey, urging the high wage-earners at the club to accept compromise deals to allow Pompey to exit administration.

Greg Halford and David Norris also accepted the letter on their arrival, as did Dave Kitson later, who spoke with fans outside the training ground.
