The Dream Is Over

Neil McClure has tried to persuade Morgan to join the board of directors for some time, but has declined and took up a non-executive post with Swansea Rugby Club instead. The asking price, believed to be around £2 million, would be a small percentage of his fortune, but the former welder from Plasmarl has ruled out the move because of time rather than money. While Morgan did not want to be drawn into the Swansea City saga, he told the Evening Post: "I've got three large projects on the go at the moment with Swansea Airport, The Travel House and a new hotel. "These projects are consuming all my time at present and I've got to focus all my efforts on them. The rumours linking me with a takeover of Swansea City are not true." Even Swansea-born actress Catherine Zeta Jones and husband Michael Douglas have been linked with the club. But former Swansea chairman Robert Jones, Catherine's uncle and current supremo at League of Wales club Llanelli, ruled out the link. "Catherine has watched quite a few football games at Llanelli," explained Jones. "But I wouldn't think her or Michael would be interested in the Swans. ;-)
