Swans Take A Deserved Day Off

Club captain, Nick Cusack is not concussed as originally feared and should be ready to face Oxford next Saturday although Alan Curtis was less than complimentary about the referee's handling of his injury. Speaking on the official website, Curt said " I thought the ruling was that the ref had to stop the game immediately for a head injury. If that is the case, why did he not allow Nick to receive attention on field?"
Gareth Phillips, another casualty of the game with a dead leg will also be available on Saturday and was more than pleased to score the second Nationwide League goal of the season " Most people think my game isjust about doing the defensive work, so I'm happy to show them that I can score as well! I'd only ever got thePremier Cup goal before, so it's good to get this one, especially as coming so early, it helped settle us."
Swans fans have reacted positively to the win last Saturday and confidence has increased that we can do a job this season. After a summer of turmoil at the club with favourites leaving and uncertainty over the club's future, the win was just the tonic that the club and the fans needed.
A bumper crowd is now expected at the Vetch next Saturday for the visit of Oxford who have invested heavily during the summer after their catastrophic campaign of last season, where they were considerably worse than we were!
The latest edition of the Swansea fanzine, Jackseye will be on sale at the ground on Saturday priced at £1. You can get a sneak preview of what is in store in the latest edition by visiting the Jackseye web-site by clicking here
