Macc Lads To Provide Swans Test

The The Swans hit the road again this weekend and boss Kenny Jackett will be hoping his side can maintain their 100% away record with Saturday's visit to Macclesfield. After the initial disappointment of last Saturday's defeat to title favourites Northampton, a hard fought and thoroughly deserved 3 points on Tuesday night at Rochdale will have certainly lifted the spirits in the Swans camp.

Jackett's team selection on Tuesday night will leave Swans fans in no doubt that the new boss has no time for "reputations" and that he's certainly not afraid to tinker with his selection on a game to game basis. The three points earned in midweek are a clear indication that Jackett will pick his team based purely on form and the ability to carry out the job at hand, a refreshing change from the management styles we've been used to in recent times.

Whether Jackett sticks with the winning formula or decides to change things around again remains to be seen. The possibility of an unchanged side may be hampered by a slight doubt over defender Garry Monk, who is struggling with a groin strain. Striker Lee Trundle and defender Izzy Iriekpen are still sidelined, but both are expected to resume training next week.

Silkmen boss Brian Horton has no injury worries ahead of Saturday's fixture after captain Tommy Widdrington recovered from a minor calf injury. Horton is more than likely to field an unchanged side to the one that beat Shrewsbury in midweek to maintain their 100% start to the season.

So it's the first real away test of the season and it's sure to be a tough encounter. With a healthy away following of around 500 jacks expected to make the trip to Cheshire to cheer on Jackett's men, there's every chance those supporters will be returning to Swansea on Saturday night with smiles on their faces. I predict another battling performance from the Swans and fancy us to take all 3 points with a narrow win.
