Swans Look To Close In On Leaders

It will be a meeting of old 'friends' at the Vetch tomorrow as Chester City arrive with the Swans looking to end the day within one point of leaders Yeovil with another home win.

It's been a month since the Swans recorded a win at the Vetch with the return from three games so far this year being a draw and two defeats - something that Kenny Jackett will be banking on his team putting right tomorrow.

Managing the visitors will be Welsh legend Ian Rush who is backed by one of Swansea's favourite football pundits Mark Aizlewood. Whilst Rush is almost assured of a warm welcome to the ground, his number 2 can expect things to be a little more heated for his own previous comments about the Swans together with his misdemeanours well reported in the press in previous years.

On the football side however, there will almost certainly be a return in goal for Willy Gueret who sat out last week's win at Boston through suspension and then was rested for the midweek trip to Caernarfon. Captain Roberto Martinez also finds himself back in the fold after an injury lay off and looks certain to return to midfield at the expense of Andy Gurney who may resort to right back with Izzy Iriekpen the likely casualty if that happens. There is still no Kris O'Leary or Kevin Nugent though meaning that the 25 goal partnership of Connor and Trundle will again provide the firepower for the Swans up front.

Paul Carden and Cortez Belle both received red cards last weekend and will miss the fixture for Chester although there should be a place in the line up for loan signings Joe O'Neill and George Elokobi. On the injury list for Chester is Darren Edmondson whilst Kevin Rapley has gone for the bright lights of Forest Green.

It really is hard to see anything other than a home win for the Swans in this fixture so lets hope that what we can see is what we can get
