One Small Step For Jacks........

..........and more importantly for the squad they proved to themselves that they can play on the larger platform. Not one player froze on the day and again surely shows that they have what it takes to finish the job off they so impressively started in August.

But surely the most important thing now for the club is to take on board the scale of support that the club took on 'Flag Day' and how they now not only utilise and tap into this but also the ,000s that did not go due to other commitments and also the implied or otherwise threat of violence( which sadly for two young children marred their day)

The club now know they have a workable base of anything between 30 and 40,000 who would be interested in the Swans, much of course has been made of the (in)famous database of our rivals 11 trillion and rising last time it was checked.

What strategies are the club now taking to tap into these new/lapsed fans what offers do they have in mind!

Are they already talking to the authorities about how to increase the stadium in size, The club should be having discussions now with the relevant authorities and also financiers as to how to increase the size of the existing stadium or how to finance the building of a new one in say 10 years time! Even if it cant be done nothing wrong with looking at possible scenarios.

We have always talked about how good the support is but no one has ever come up with concrete proposals to harness it and surely now 'Flag Day' highlighted to everyone connected with the City that the much vaunted and talked about 'Demographic Potential' is there as it has finally raised its head above the parapet.

Flag Day was a superb day for Swansea City others have tried to decry it but its out there and one where everyone can be proud of the behaviour of the Jack Army despite the authorities just longing for trouble to start up.

A further thought for the club surely should be how they sell tickets should events like this happen again. Carlisle made a good noise and maybe the club should be a little firmer next time and insist to the fanbase that tickets will be sold in blocks next to each other and thus making a mass of support rather than a stretched out pattern like Sunday. This would increase noise levels still further for the team

Others can belittle Flag Day as much as they like but it should prove a bigger step for the club that others would have you believe
