Bristol City boss Gary Johnson was sent off as his side took a step nearer automatic promotion with a goalless draw against Swansea.

The manager was banished to the stands in the closing minutes for going onto the pitch to kick the ball away from Swansea defender Izzy Iriekpen, with play stopped for a Robins free kick.

Swans` Dennis Lawrence was earlier denied by a post after only six minutes, while keeper Adriano Basso did well to deny Thomas Butler, and was grateful when Darryl Duffy shot wide from a great position after 73 minutes.

Enoch Showunmi saw his shot well saved by Willy Gueret minutes later, before City substitute Andy Smith also headed against the bar in injury time to almost snatch the points.

As has been said lower down, it was 2 points dropped I'm sorry. We had lots of very good chances, but we didn't have our shooting boots on. Bristol City looked very edgy and nervous, perhaps the pressure of being near promotion is getting to them a little. Marcos Painter was MOTM today, he was excellent as usual - He's been a very good signing. Also I thought Amankwaah had a very good game as well, a shame he limped off injured again though. Nice to hear the fans chant his name! Abbott was disappointing, he looks very low on confidence, doesn't offer us much!
