Damien Delaney is the latest acquisition by big spending QPR - joining from Hull City for a six figure fee.

The 26 year old defender becomes Rangers ninth signing since the opening of the transfer window and has signed a 3 and a half year deal. Damien is likely to go straight into the squad for Saturday's visit of Barnsley to Loftus Road.

Delaney began his career at Cork City before moving to Leicester in November 2000. He made 8 appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes, before spending time out on loan at Stockport, Huddersfield and Mansfield, before moving to Hull City in 2003.

Despite falling out of favour at the KC Stadium, Damien has started in all but 5 of the Tigers Championship matches this season.

On his arrival at Loftus Road, Delaney told the Official QPR Website;

"It's a massive challenge for me personally. The squad is very strong in every department and the initial task for me is to play my way into the Manager's thoughts.

I met the Chairman (Gianni Paladini) and he sold the Club to me in an instance. He spoke in glowing terms about the new owners and what they want to achieve and from that moment on, there was never any doubt in my mind that this was the Club for me"

GOOD LUCK DAMIEN AND WELCOME TO QPR!!
