Keane to miss Oxford
Tuesday, 17th Jan 2017 19:49 by Col

Having been sent off in his first full league game as a Dale player, Keith Keane will be forced to sit out of this weekend's home game with Oxford United.

The sending off, which by our reckoning was his first dismissal since August 2010, came midway through the first half during the away defeat at Southend at the weekend. The nature of his dismissal will carry an automatic one match suspension.

It does bring up questions about what Keith Hill will do during Keane's absence. With Joe Bunney out, he has opted in the last two games to stick Joe Rafferty at left back and Harrison McGahey at right back. But McGahey is likely to get the nod to replace for Keane's spot which could lead to a reshuffle again for the full backs.

The game against Oxford will offer Dale the opportunity to win an 11th successive home game in a run stretching back to the middle of September.
