News Stories for Gary Madine

Have we missed our first target? Wed 20th May 2015
As the season approached it was suggested that if everything fell in to place we'd have a decent spine of a team. With Orlandi, Cubero and O'Hara all looking good, Clark's contacts with Michael Jacobs, Hall and Daniels spoken about for a return in the defence and Gary Madine up front, that was looking like a decent League One side. Now all that is left is Nile Ranger (who has lost his A-Z) and a couple of blokes from Sunderland!
No Pain, No Retain! Tue 19th May 2015
I have an image of the evil child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the look of joy on all the children's faces when they were released from his wicked grasp! Whilst they may now be out of work there can't be many of Blackpool's ex-players who aren't secretly relieved that they won't have to return to Gloomfield Road next season.
The Retained List Thu 07th May 2015
If the result of the 2015 General Election is uncertain, the Father of Linda Carter's baby in Eastenders is a mystery and the whereabouts of Nile Ranger still keep you awake at night, it's nothing compared to the silence coming out of Bloomfield Road with regards to this season's retained list.
Blackpool v Huddersfield Preview Fri 01st May 2015
It's the game that needs no introduction or for that matter preview. It's Blackpool's final match in the Championship and it's also the day that the fans judge the Chairman.
Blackpool 0 Fulham 1 Sun 19th Apr 2015
'Oyster Out' came the chants from both the Blackpool and Fulham fans and yet Lee Clark went about his business of losing games as if no one really cares anymore. 16 games without a win now for the manager who is taking the Seasiders down in spectacular fashion.
Ipswich 3 Blackpool 2 Sun 12th Apr 2015
Another away defeat and our colleagues at twtd.co.uk take up the story. Freddie Sears scored twice and Christophe Berra once as Town beat already-relegated Blackpool 3-2 at Portman Road. The Blues fell behind to Andrea Orlandi’s fourth-minute goal, prior to Sears striking twice before the break, then Henry Cameron levelled for Blackpool, but Berra sealed a win which really should have been more routine in the 83rd minute.
Ipswich v Blackpool Preview Fri 10th Apr 2015
If euthanasia was available in football, then Blackpool would be put out of their misery long before Saturday's trip to Portman Road. It is quite astonishing that the bookmakers are still edging their bets with odds on of 11/1 on an away win because anyone who puts money on that bet deserves at least ten times those odds. Imagine a 3 legged donkey going round the Grand National and that's Blackpool at Ipswich and don't expect the side to get anywhere near Beacher's Brook!
Blackpool 1 Leeds 1 Sun 22nd Mar 2015
Another point to relegation than safety as Blackpool picked up a draw against a Leeds side and finally showed some of the drive and ability that has been lacking for much of this season. The decision to finally play Cubero from the start was welcomed by Blackpool fans and the Costa Rican made a difference to the way the side played. Unfortunately, one mistake denied Clark's side the win again.
Blackpool v Sheffield Wednesday Preview Fri 06th Mar 2015
Hardly seems worth summoning the energy to write a preview for a game which effectively is a dead rubber. Blackpool are down whilst Sheffield Wednesday will get the pleasures of the Championship again next season. Ironic that such a badly run club like the one at Hillsborough survives whilst the Seasiders go down - what does that say about events at Bloomfield Road this season?!
Blackpool 4 Nottingham Forest 4 Sun 15th Feb 2015
You could have put money on the fact that after 15 months of only scoring one goal at home that when Blackpool did eventually score more than one that we wouldn't go on and win the game. In the end, no one would have predicted we'd score four and still not win but the fact that the Seasiders were down to effectively 8 men for the last 15 minutes of the game and still came out with a point is credit to the players.
