News Stories for Nathan Delfouneso

No Pain, No Retain! Tue 19th May 2015
I have an image of the evil child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the look of joy on all the children's faces when they were released from his wicked grasp! Whilst they may now be out of work there can't be many of Blackpool's ex-players who aren't secretly relieved that they won't have to return to Gloomfield Road next season.
Blackpool 0 Fulham 1 Sun 19th Apr 2015
'Oyster Out' came the chants from both the Blackpool and Fulham fans and yet Lee Clark went about his business of losing games as if no one really cares anymore. 16 games without a win now for the manager who is taking the Seasiders down in spectacular fashion.
Birmingham 1 Blackpool 0 Thu 05th Mar 2015
Some say an improved performance, but maybe the real story of this season is Blackpool's inability to get results out of a good display. The Seasiders away performances have yielded little in the way of positives but at least we knew where Birmingham's goal was and only conceded the one goal - these days that's progress.
Wolves 2 Blackpool 0 Sun 18th Jan 2015
Whilst Lee Clark's record since he arrived at Bloomfield Road hasn't been bad, his record away from home continues to disappoint. Just 2 points from 15. It' seems the Blackpool boss is looking to avoid the drop by picking up a draw on the road and hoping for wins at home. Whilst this result won't relegate the Seasiders, the performance will frustrate those fans who spent money to watch it.
Blackpool 1 Rotherham 1 Sun 28th Dec 2014
You'd hoped with the arrival of Lee Clark that Blackpool would have been fighting tooth and nail to avoid relegation but instead they seem to be cruising towards League One with many waiting to jump off board before we get there. Only some superb saves from keeper Joe Lewis and the arrival of two potential stars of the future Dom Telford and Mark Waddington gave Blackpool fans anything to smile about. The first 45 minutes of this game was about as dire as many fans will remember and one that most will try to forget in a hurry.
Shelf Wed 1 Blackpool 0 Sat 27th Dec 2014
A red card, a poor penalty conceded, a defeat on the road and a manager questioning where Lady Luck is. There is the story of 2014 in a nutshell. Whilst few expected major successes this year few will have predicted what has happened at Bloomfield Road this year. Even the biggest Oyston critic can't have expected the club to have fallen to this level of disarray and despair.
Blackpool 1 Bournemouth 6 Sun 21st Dec 2014
Back down to earth with a bump at Bloomfield Road. Anyone who was hoping for a coupon buster was disappointed as Blackpool and Bournemouth showed why they are at the bottom and top of the Championship respectively. Whatever confidence and team moral that Lee Clark had established at Bloomfield Road was gone in 90 minutes.
Rotherham 1 Blackpool 1 Sat 29th Nov 2014
The search for Lee Clark's first victory goes on as the New York Stadium failed to provide the Blackpool manager with three points. A late gaff by the Millers keeper ensured the 10 point gap between the two teams remained in place but Rotherham manager Steve Evans will probably be happier about that than Lee Clark who still has a massive uphill struggle to avoid the drop.
Millwall 2 Blackpool 1 Sat 30th Aug 2014
Carole King once had a hit with the song 'It might as well rain until September' - quite apt after the August and the summer that Blackpool have had. There was always that question 'can we get away with not having a pre-season and a thrown together squad?'. Well that question has now been answered in the most stark way with six defeats in August and records broken left, right and centre.
Blackpool 1 Brentford 2 Tue 19th Aug 2014
You reap what you sow. A pre-season of disarray, disappointment and disharmony was always going to be tough to put behind Jose Riga's men but you just hoped a whole new team, a new way of thinking and playing and a new campaign would result in a better Blackpool. Sadly all the bad habits, poor performances and clueless football of last season was all too evident again at Bloomfield Road.
