17 for an adult and 12 for a child. After reading that Stanley had reduced admission for their own fans. We have a substantial increase on last year! Any one else feel like me and are passing on principle at this move?

Just out of curiosity, do the club get a cut of the ticket sales for away games?
Or is it that they just hand over whatever they generate?
Because if we get a cut it would be in our own interests to buy from the club even though it may be an inconvenience.
Just a thought

I think the club do get a small cut.

The extra info that's been added today (about tickets on sale till 3pm Friday and payment at turnstiles allowed) follows the section on purchasing disabled ticketing; this ends with:

"Please note tickets only available from Accrington Stanley ticket office on the day of the game."

Since this was the last bit before today's addition, it's likely that many potential purchasers may have interpreted it as meaning the game was all-ticket.

At least that's my take on it!

Tannoy against Torquay said game was all ticket and tickets were available from our ticket office. Play on words but this strongly implied you had to buy a ticket. Tannoy also said adult 17 and and concessions were 12 pounds. Again I assumed that my son of 14 was a concession! Surely the information we are given needs to be better. Thanks for all the replies giving further information. With this and pressure from son, we will be there on Saturday.

Clear, concise info is always a benefit in most situations. Analyse whatever info is being issued and assess it from the target audience's point of view: what questions does it pose? Can those questions be eradicated by making changes to the initial info provided?

(not that I'd expect any messageboarders to take these useful, and above all FREE tips and implement them in their daily tasks/battles/Powerpoint presentations)

It does also help at those grounds that do not take cash on turnstiles.

They remind me a bit of the Darlington play-off tickets.

Charging £12 for a child is plain daft .
Just glad I read this thread before going firm on taking the grandkids, £36 + refreshments,
not a chance.

I got tickets today - it's £17 for adults and £7 for under 17s, £1 for under 12s.
Students (presumably 17,18 year olds?) pay £12.
I don't think it's too bad and will be in the seats so I don't get wet.

It's always a good day out.

Just phoned the Stanley ticket line and they are telling me that you can pay on the turnstyle. When i told her that the dale web site is telling everyone we need to go to the ticket office first, she again said you can defo pay at the gate.
[Post edited 17 Sep 2013 11:28]

So instead of making a journey up to Spotland to purchase a ticket for the Stanley game which i am sure a lot of supporters did, we can now pay at the turnstiles on the day. The original information was tickets would have to be purchased on the day at the Stanley ticket office, prior to entering the ground, if not purchased first at Spotland

So supporters have had to incur transport costs as well as waste their own time to go up to Spotland for tickets when in fact we could just pay on the gate on the day. Am i turning into Victor Meldrew here or are we having the p*ss taken out of us??

What do you expect from a club that treats the loyal 2500 fans as they do.
The club is run in such a tinpot fashion, I am surprised it still exists.
Commercial side is crap.
Website is crap.
Marketing is non existent.
Still waiting foe a reply to a letter I gave personally to the chief executive four years ago.
They dont give a shit about us.

Just seen this post, and I'm concerned/interested about the letter you handed to our Ch Exec.

I am amazed that you have not had a reply. was the letter for him, or to be passed onto someone else at the club? Also, did you chase him up about it?

And regarding the Official Website, I beg to differ. It has been very much improved in recent months, compared to how it used to be. Yes...there is always room for further improvement, but it's much better than a couple of years ago imho. I'd like to see further improvements on Daleplayer, but I understand that some of the issues we have had to endure are out of the clubs control.

The contents of the letter will remain between myself and the recipient.
Don't ask, as I won't tell.

While the OS has been good for ages now, it's the little things that matter - especially something like the Accrington ticket news story still showing as the tenth story down. Why, when the paying on turnstiles news was found out, didn't the story leap to the top with an indication that there was an update?

This thread has illustrated that finding out information has impacted the travel plans of some supporters.

But isn't there an elephant in the room here?

IF the club get income from the sale of away tickets (however small) isn't there a disincentive to inform fans that the match isn't all-ticket?

Please tell me if I am misunderstanding or missing the point here, but..........

The game is at Accrington. Therefore, Accrington are responsible for the ticketing of the game. Somebody has spoken to Accrington's ticket line, and they have confirmed you can pay on the turnstile. So that clears that up.

OK, now our ticket office is suggesting for people to purchase tickets from our (Dale's) ticket office. I'm assuming they have said you 'can' buy tickets, and not a 'you must' buy tickets? Therefore, the choice is yours?

Forgive my ignorance here but Rochdale AFC is a business (albeit a business which should engage more with the community). But If there is a small return to be made on ticket sales, I personally would not begrudge them that (i'd actually expect people to be angry on missing out on revenue if we did not do it!)

This happens with all 'derby' games where a large following is expected doesn't it? Why the ill-feeling?

There is no ill-feeling, just a request for more clarity around release of information. This thread indicates the confusion amongst supporters over the last few days.

That Accrington have now said you can pay on the turnstile when a fan enquired is most certainly their issue. How we choose to promote that change in info is our issue ( I don't have a clue about who gets what from ticket sales for away league games), however once the change was made, it came to light once posted on this thread.

The most important thing should always be the customer - the supporter. If any supporter is turning up half an hour earlier because they think they have to go to a ticket office, the release of information has not been effective enough by the football clubs involved (home or away).

Fair enough, but has there been a change of information?

I understand Accy have said pay on the day, but have I missed somewhere our 'press office' has said you cannot pay on the day?

What I understand is that the club have said something along the line of 'tickets are available from the ticket office', which does not necessarily mean it is an all ticket game?

For me, whenever a game has been all ticket, the club has usually done all it can to make that clear to the supporters. They have not done that here and hence, you can pay on the gate.

I also understand that the club should not be prompted by what appears on this messageboard, but the club, like me, may be a little unaware of the reason for confusion until they read this board, and then they put out a statement for everyone's clarity? This messageboard undoubtedly assists the club, but why should we get uptight about that?

From what I've seen, this board does not always prompt the club to react, but the club reacts to clear up confusion when it becomes apparent (as is the case here)?

Don't think anyone felt it was all-ticket and that you couldn't pay on the day. But apologies to anyone who did!
