Brendan Rodgers has questioned the appointment of demoted referee Michael Oliver for tomorrow's game at Millwall
The Swansea City manager is hoping the referee - demoted following his handling of Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend - can handle the big occasion of the clash for two sides still hopeful of their own step up to the Premier League next season.
Speaking to the Western Mail, Rodgers said “I hope the referee is able to deal with the moment
“Michael steps down from the Premier League and comes to our game. It will be a big occasion and it’s obviously one he needs to be ready for. I just hope he hasn’t been put into this as a demotion or a lesser level game because this is still a big game.
“I’m not up on the exact facts, of it but if what I hear is that he has been relegated from the Premier League then it will certainly be a test for a young referee to come into this game. It maybe a bigger test than even a Premier League game. It is two teams who are right up there and we won’t be taking the game lightly.”
