Midfielder extends loan spell with Hatters

On loan Southampton midfielder Anthony Pulis has extended his loan spell at Edgeley Park into a third and final month. The 26-year-old joined County on loan in October and has since made 11 appearances during his time with the club.

Although the club have endured some mixed results since Anthony arrived, his own performances have been getting better and better as he has played more games for us and he has turned out to be a decent acquisition.

Anthony was actually dropped from the starting line up against Port Vale in favour of Greg Tansey, after the latter had impressed whilst coming off the bench in County’s previous two matches against Peterborough and Torquay. Greg’s performance against Vale may see him dropped back to the bench when we visit Northampton Town on Saturday, as he failed to make the same impact in the 5-0 thrashing by Vale as he had done previously.

There is no indication at the moment whether County will try and make a permanent move for the Welshman in January or if Southampton want to offload, although finances may mean that Paul Simpson’s hands will be tied irrespective of whether or not he wants to sign him.
