Robbie Bust To Be Unveiled
Wednesday, 9th Apr 2008 21:17

The Robbie James Memorial Bust will be officially unveiled at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 26th April at 12.30pm.

The bust, which is the idea of Robbie’s son, Luke, has been six months in the making and planning and will be situated outside the Liberty Stadium ticket office in full view of most people who attend the stadium on match days and at other times.

The ceremony will be hosted by Supporters Trust Chairman, Phil Sumbler who will introduce the other two speakers on the day – Swansea City Club Chaplain Kevin Johns and Luke James.

All supporters of Swansea City are invited to attend the ceremony.

Speaking with regards to the appeal, Phil Sumbler said “The final unveiling of the bust will be the result of six months of hard work and contributions from so many people. “It is over twelve months since Luke first raised the idea of a bust and we have progressed in that time from an idea to what is now ready to be a permanent memorial to a true Swansea great. #

“I would very much like as many Swansea fans as possible to be there for the ceremony as a great statement of how much Robbie meant to us all.”

The bust has been sculpted by local sculptor Peter Nicholas.
