Mark Rowlands looks forward to the next game - QPR at the Liberty

QPR are in town on Tuesday night - the world's richest club so some say due to the involvement of a couple of people working with car drivers. and an arab.   Didn't work for Cardiff City really did it.  Two taxi drivers from Splott and Sam Hamman.

I find it unfortunate that any side with the nickname "The R's" elects to call themselves just that - bet they would soon change it if they had to head to Brighton to play a game.   Mind you then they would probably be quite happy to be on the end of a hammering on the pitch purely because they could then say that "The R's Were Against the Wall"  (oh my god that is just terrible)

I see that last week's next up got on the back of the site's resident dick in nigel nits.   I have to say that I am disappointed in myself to allow the level of the look ahead to sink down to a level that he actually understood.   Although I guess he could have got somebody to read it to him.   Must be an enlightening experience to see things without pictures mind.

It is interesting to look up the origins of the team name in Queens Park Rangers.  It is a little known fact that her maj is a big fan of Yogi Bear hence the Park Ranger title - smarter than the average bear is our Liz.   It is also a little known fact that back in his native Germany Prince Philip used to be a man who was in control of his own flock so to speak with his trusty sheep dog Alvin.   When he first met the queen he was particularly fond of a part of her body which is why the area in with QPR play is known as such but I shall leave you to try and work that one out for yourself.

QPR is also the original home to the Les Ferdinand but that came about for them from the time when they were actually good.  But it is the one thing that the two clubs have in common although these days there is far more chance of seeing a Ferdy here then there is at Loftus Road.

QPR are also the only side in the English League to have their fixtures begin with a Q when they are at home.   Well them and us when we play Cardiff in the Carling Cup anyway.   (Again think about it, I'm trying to confuse Nigel nits by being a little more cryptic.

QPRs famous fans reads like a list of people you cannot remember but here's a few to set you thinking for the day - do you remember when these people were famous

Neil Fouldes - one time snooker player
Wendy James - foxy lady (then) from Transvision Vamp
Michael Nyman - composer allegedly
Sir George Young - no, me neither
Rat Scabbies - from the Damned
Andrew Ridgley - the one from Wham who didn't live in public toilets
Alan Wilder - he was in Depeche Mode you know
Howard Anthony - played Alan Jackson in EastEnders

As you can see Loftus Road is just one big game of not so much "who's who" but more "Who the f**k is that"

Still, it is another game of football and another one for the Swans to win before the Saints arrive on Saturday - Roger Moore impressions at the ready.

Smarter than the average bear.
