Monk We Need Players Who Will Score Goals

Swansea City captain Garry Monk has urged the powers that be to bring in players that will score goals to the club.

After the departure of the prolific Jason Scotland and the skilful Jordi Gomez it is a compelling argument the former Southampton man presents. Losing 30 plus goals from the duo alone many of the Liberty Stadium faithful have been pondering that exact answer to the question posed by Monk, where will the goals come from ? However the 30 year old has warned club officials that they must replace them properly, as he told the SWEP, he said "We have lost some big players and obviously we need to replace them. I know Jordi was never actually our player, but I'm sure he would have been keen to come back here if the chance had been there.”

"He scored a lot of goals for us last season along with Jason and we need to replace them properly.”

After signing on from Queen Of The South, some maybe turning to Stephen Dobbie to provide the goals next season but even the Glaswegians arrival is not enough now with Scotland's departure to Wigan this week, he added, “We have got Stephen in and it's a chance for him to show what he can do, but we need back-up and we may need a couple more strikers.”

Turning his attentions to the midfield area, the club veteran has given his ringing endorsement to his fellow team-mates. Despite that praise he still believes that the club need to lure another player in the mould of Jordi Gomez to the club as he now outlines, "We have got some good players in midfield, we all know that, but maybe we need a Jordi-type player who can get us the goals we need."

Swansea have been bolstered by the news that Jordi Lopez has agreed personal terms with a view to signing a deal with the South Wales club early next week.
