Swansea City have confirmed that Albert Serran will miss eight weeks through injury

The Swansea City defender hobbled off towards the end of Saturday's 1-0 win over Leicester at the Liberty Stadium amid fears of a long term absence from the side.

A scan revealed that he had torn part of a tendon in his hamstring with the prognosis of that being the two month absence.

Speaking to the official website, Serran said "It's unfortunate, it's unlucky, but that's football.

"Obviously I'm very disappointed, but on the other hand I'm pleased that it is not the knee which could have been a lot worst.

"I've just got to work hard to get myself fit again as soon as I can.''
