Saints Interested In Basel Winger Thursday, 7th Dec 2017 10:41 According to Swiss media outlet Blick, Saints had a scout at the Basel V Lausanne game on Sunday and he was making copious notes everytime a certain player was on the ball. The man whom Blick claim Saints are after is Norwegian international Mohamed Elyounoussi, a player who has been linked with Saints in the past, the winger was born in Morrocco and turned 23 in August and signed for Basel in the summer of 2016 from Molde costing £2,88 million. He has been a success in Switzerland and has also featured for the Norwegian team and this has meant he has been linked with a number of clubs including Leicester City and now Saints. So far this season he has played 15 games in the Swiss Super League, scoring 4 goals and adding to that 10 assists, impressive stats and why Saints have been monitoring his progress, however looking at him is no guarantee we will make a move, the way Saints do their due dilligence on players means that at any given time they will be looking to have several ready to go options in any one position should they want to get a player in in that position. The stumbling block though will be the price, he is contracted to Basel till 2021 so they will be in no hurry to sell, at least not unless they receive a big offer.
