Another Defeat For Rovers
Sunday, 18th Aug 2019 18:10

Bristol Rovers failed to get on the score sheet again for the third League game in a row and have just one point out of a possible nine.

Manager Graham Coughlan kept the same side that beat Cheltenham Town 3-0 in the first round of the League Cup on Tuesday night.

Rovers struggled throughout the game to create any real chances on goal and failed to register one shot on target in 90 minutes, Rovers best chance of the game went to skipper Ollie Clarke who dragged his shot wide. Rovers were undone by goals at the end of each half, Shipley hit a powerful left-footed half-volley past goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola on 45 minutes.

The second half was no better despite Rovers having a lot of the ball they couldn't create any chances and with seven minutes to go Kastaneer fired a left-footed drive from long range which bent around Jaakkola and in off the post.

With pressure growing Rovers next face Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night at The Memorial Stadium.
