Thread of the Week - Hossam Ghaly
Thread of the Week - Hossam Ghaly
Wednesday, 9th Apr 2008 22:00

It's been a relatively slow week on RamZone's Message Board but thoughts are turning to next season already.

Posters are deciding who they think would be worth keeping for the Championship campaign. OldtimeRam started off a good thread about Hossam Ghaly.

There have been very few success stories this season among the players - a lot of that might just be the combination of individuals who simply cannot gel into a winning team. However, there must be some players that are currently on the books who could be slotted into a side with a better combination of skills and talent and who would then be part of a successful side.

Hossam Ghaly is possibly such a player - there is undoubted skill there and given times to settle there have been glimpses of talent shining through a doomed side. Roy Carroll is another player who can almost certainly count on being retained next season - as can Robbie Savage - unless a newly promoted side want him for the experience but his enthusiasm and passion for the game has not really changed anything for Derby.

Most of the other posts have been about the defeat at Everton - despite a better all-round performance and about season ticket sales/renewals.

Next season the RamZone MB is sure to be much busier as fans regain their enthusiasm for supporting their team. It's been a long miserable season and there is very little left to say about it.

Thanks to OldtimeRam for starting a thread which led to good discussion and to all posters both on that thread and all others.
