Leeds to keep Freedman for Play-offs
Leeds to keep Freedman for Play-offs

According to the Yorkshire Post, Leeds have reached agreement to extend Dougie Freedman’s loan spell to include the play-offs.

The current deal for Freedman runs until the end of the regular season, and there is also an immediate recall clause, which Palace would exercise if they ran into a sudden injury crisis. But as the 33 year-old has made a significant contribution to our recent fine run of results, Gary Mc.Allister wants to keep him at Elland Road if we are to take part in the play-offs.

Freedman has previous experience of play-off campaigns from earlier in his career, and he told the Yorkshire Post that Leeds have timed their late run to perfection. "It's perfect timing for us. I can't say how crucial it is to be getting momentum and to come to teams and show them what sort of form you're in. Unfortunately I'm coming to the end of my career, but I understand what it takes and you need good form in the last six games. We're bang on hitting good form right now. It puts you in good stead for the play-offs but you've got to get there first”.

Our wins in the last two games have carried us into sixth place while others have slipped, so we now sit two points ahead of Tranmere with a game in hand and four ahead of Walsall. We must now fancy our chances of getting enough points from the remaining games, even if we don’t get those 15 points back at next week’s appeal.
